@McBezel:  I just searched Marisa dresses and found your thread! I’m Marisa 953. I’d never even heard of Marisa until I stumbled upon this dress at the bridal shop. Your dress is beautiful!!

Hi marisa brides!  I’m about to order my Marisa dress as well and am a little worried the ordered dress won’t look as stunning as the sample store dress…which I’m seriously debating on buying bc I cant take the anticipation of waiting 4-7mos!  Did any of you notice or experience any differences (shape, lace detailing, or color) from your ordered dress vs the one you tried on at the store??

@Soon2BMrsC21 – how was the lace detailing of your dress when it arrived?  was the shape the same?  I love the mermaid cut on this dress but online, it’s described as an A-line dress which confuses me.  Maybe bc of my hips it fits more like a mermaid – plus I also had it clipped more like a mermaid when I was at the store.  How does your dress fit?

@Ovalgem613:  Mine is a little stiffer than the sample (obviously) but I’m very pleased with it.  It also came in about ten weeks, when the estimate delivery time was four months+!  It’s silk organza, though, not lace – the bridal salon where I ordered it said that a bride who ordered a lace Marisa more than a month before me had not yet received her dress when mine came in, so I’d budget a little extra time for lace styles.  Also, according to the rule that brides should order their dress according to their larges measurement, I “should” have ordered my dress two sizes bigger based on the designer’s size chart.  Luckily the sample in the store fit me pretty much perfectly, so the sales ladies were OK with me ordering that size – and it still needed to be taken in quite a bit!  If I had orderd the ‘recommended’ size, it would have needed to be entirely rebuilt.  That said, they are lovely, high quality dressed for the price point; you don’t see them on very many other brides; and my seamstress says it’s been easy to work with in alterations.

@Ovalgem613:  Sorry, I’m just seeing your message now! My dress won’t be in until Oct./Nov.-ish, so I’m still waiting!

@loveandapitbull:  I’m worried about sizing as well :/ The sample I tried on was an 8, and it fit almost perfectly, except in the butt. They ordered a SIZE 16(!!!) based on the designer measurements. My worry is that it’s going to have to be rebuilt, like you said… I’m usually a size 4-6

@jollymeee:  I do have photos of me in it, just haven’t posted them. I want to wait until it comes it and starts to be fitted! 🙂

@Ovalgem613:

Hi there! Here’s a few pics of me in the sample dress. I actually just went to pick up my actual dress yesterday, and it’s even more gorgeous than the sample!! I ordered the same size as the sample (size 10) which was a little big on me when I tried it on. However, my actual dress fits me almost perfectly….I’m assuming because the samples get stretched out so much. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures of me trying on the dress yesterday. Let me know if you have any questions about the dress!

@jollymeee:  ohh your dress is gorgeous!  thank u for sending me the pics.  oki think im gonna go with this style now for sure.  i love the train and the pretty french lace detailing.  I would love to see you in your actual dress though!  So happy to hear the ordered one looks even better – thats a big relief!  I’ll prob have to get the size 10 as well- the sample fit me just a litte loose around waist.  What are your measurements if u dont mind me asking?
