Can we talk you out of doing that? Unless you write on the bottom of the glass, many people will either not take them home , or will put them in the box for the  thrift shop as soon as they get home. I for one, do not want one glass that is labelled with someone else’s name and wedding date in with the rest of my crystal. I would never use it.

If you must label them, I would do it on the bottom of the glass or attach a removeable tag. The tag would also give you more room for a few words of thanks to your guests.

They have paint pens at all craft stores that will do this. I have a TON of them as I’ve done this multiple times

any permanent marker will work, but some of the lighter colors might be see through… so you can also use Chalk Ink (chalkink.com).  They work great and come in washable and permanent options.

I found some at a scrapbooking store for my mom once for writing on a glass plate…..but I cannot remeber the name!! They came in all sorts of colours too.

Thank you! I can’t wait to tackle this project! I got my glasses yesterday but I haven’t got the Mod Podge or glitter yet!

The glitter stems lok great. However, before you go on to do this on a large scale, I would look for a way to make them water proof. Honestly, a wine glass that cannot be washed seems kind of useless to me. I would not want people taking them home only to learn they can’t wash them by trial and error…glitter all over other dishes would make me mad. Have you considered doing the top coats in a waterproof varnish? I’m not sure what to use as I have not done this but a trip to Michaels or Home Depot may solve your problem. Also, you may want to consider a paper punch to save yourself from needing to cut out all those labels. I totally agree the labels are a nice touch and more practical than a monogram and date.
