I have a marquis cut diamond given to me by my grandmother. It is currently in a three stone ring with two small tanzanites. I would like to have it reset but I’m not sure what to do with it. I’m thinking about setting it east-west but I’m worried that at 1/3 ct. it is too small for that. Another thought was putting it in a thicker, detailed band? I just don’t know…
I need some inspiration!

My sister has a 1/3 marquise like this:

@Jbunny: but I think an east west setting would be really awesome though!

@JessMorgan777: that’s a beautiful ring. My engagement ring has a halo so if I did something like that it would be very complimentary

I’m a big fan of the east west setting for a marquis. Maybe a bezel set:
Or something with prongs:
This is pretty too:

I LOVE Marquise Diamonds
Sooo pretty… sooo unique
I don’t personally have any ideas (altho I am enjoying the eye-candy that other Bees are posting)
Here is where you might find some inspiration:

@GoldenBee: ooh I like the bezel setting. This is a picture I had saved of one similar to the pronged setting. I wonder if it would catch though. I like the matte finish on the band. It’s hard to choose because I like so many different styles
@This Time Round: thanks that was helpful! Although making this ring would be way out of my price range I think it is gorgeous

I really like marquis stones in these settings! I especially like that sapphire and white gold one. Yum.

I love e-w settings for marquis! I think if you add a halo you wont worry about the size of the stone.
I found this side view of the setting GoldenBee posted:
Looks like a bracelet but you get the idea:
