My sister has a marquise engagement ring! It's beautiful!
My mom also has a marquise cut.
I have round, but if I could do it all over again, I really like pear!
BTW why aren't pictures showing up in posts anymore?? This is like the 3rd one I've seen today that I had to click on instead of it showing up automatically?
I'm a "princess cut" doll myself, but I must admit that your ring fits your hand beautifully because you have nice slender fingers...it really does suit you, and tis quite puuurrrdddy...congrats doll!
I love love LOVE marquise cut rings!
@drummergirl: Your ring fits your hand so beautifully!
@linguo42: I love the green with the leaves! Very unique!
Here is my precious!!!!!!! LOVE the MQ cut & how its so rare! :-)
Your ring is gorgeous by the way & congrats!!!!!!!!!! :-)

I have just gotten engaged and we are going to use the Marquise diamond from his family. We're going to pick out a setting together and I am thinking about whether or not to have a simple solitare, or flanking baguettes, or possibly flanking diamonds of another shape.
My picture deleted on here cause I deleted it from my "uploaded photo files" cause I had so many pictures in it. So I'll post it again. :-)

I didn't like them for a long time. They always looked weird to me, I like the princess cut. My FMIL gave us a stone and now I wouldn't want anything else :o)
I have a marquise as well. I used my mom's marquise stone in my ring for sentimental reasons. My mom passed away 16 years ago, and when I considered using her stone, none of my sisters wanted it because they said marquise stones are ugly. One of my sisters even told me she probably won't like the ring because it is a marquise stone. A lot of people feel marquise stones are outdated because they were so popular in the 80s and 90s, but as we were shopping for a setting to go with the stone, we were told by multiple jewelers that marquise stones were making a comeback. They believe that we will be seeing a lot more of them by next year. Here is my marquise ring. We had to custom design it because there wasn't a lot of marquise options in St. Louis except the old 90s styles. I was unsure about the stone because I had so much resistance, but now that I have it, I love it! It is so unique, and I get compliments on it all the time.
@Soon2beeMrsM: thank youu :)
@onyx81: that is such a beautiful setting! congratulations!

I never knew what kind of ring I wanted. I thought they were all beautiful. So I was not involved in the ring purchasing at all. And, my FI picked the perfect ring.
It's a marquise cut with baguette side stones and white gold band. I love it because it is timeless. I showed it to a girl in my office and she said "it looks just like my mom's!"
I took it as a complement, because it also looks like my mom's ring, and I love her ring (she has a pear cut, so slightly different). However, I feel like the marquise cut makes it unique, because I don't see a lot of brides choosing it these days.
Any other Marquise brides out there?
