We were married on 8-15 and got ours back on Friday. Unfortunately, the date for our wedding is wrong on it, so now we need to file an ammendment, so I don't know which is worse, it being wrong or waiting a month. Some other NYC brides have had luck with this number: <span class="MsgBodyText">(212) 669-8190. Godd luck!
thanks! boooo, we still haven't gotten ours :( i tried calling that number but it still just went to a mailbox with a stock message ("you have been forwarded to a voicemail system, however the person at 8190 does not subscribe to this service"). i read on some other board that some people had to wait up to two months in the city...so i guess i'll give in another two weeks or so until i really start to get worried!
we didn't even get married here- we totally should have gotten it upstate where the wedding was!
thanks again for responding!
it took 30 days!!! (calendar days) for mine to get to me!!! but we got ours in the Manhattan office...and funny how my companys says to notify them of change in marital status within 30 days, and they need the certificate, UHM stupid nyc sent it to me exactly 30day after, GRRR
we finally got ours! it was dated exactly one month after the wedding, and we received it about 8 days after that....so a few days short of 6 weeks :) i already went to the social security office...next is braving the DMV!

hoping you NYC brides can help out... we got our marriage license in brooklyn, and mailed it back in the day after our wedding (8/10) before we left for our honeymoon. i'd love to get started with the name change process, but obviously need the marriage certificate, which hasn't yet arrived in the mail. how long did it take for you to receive yours from the city?
also, does anyone have a working number that i can use to inquire about our status? the number 311 gave me is just for a recorded message at the city clerk, which gives another number for the marriage bureau or marriage records, both of which just go to unnamed voicemails. i can't seem to get a person anywhere!
