We got ours in NY and it was pretty quick.  Maybe 10 minutes or so?  The clerk asked us a bunch of questions, like where were your mother and father born, and then printed us up the license.  In NY you can also go to any office in the state to get the license, it doesn’t have to be the same one you’re getting married in, as long as you’re getting married somewhere in NY.  This was important for us, because different offices have different requirements.  The one in my hometown requires you have to have your birth certificate (which I don’t have) while the one in the next town over was fine with passport only.

It shouldn’t take very long. The process is generally pretty easy.

It took us about 10 minutes, no biggie!  Just filled out some paperwork and the clerk looked at our Id’s? Maybe?
