It varies by state, so you will need to google the requirements for where you live.  Some have waiting periods, etc.

Yeah – it’s different for every state.  They have expirations so you can’t get it too far from your wedding date.  Some states have waiting periods too.  Some states you have to get it in the county you live in, others the county you’re marrying in, others you can get it in any county.  There is typically also some sort of fee.  There are also different requirements if you’re marrying in a state you don’t live in.

Just google the requirements for the state/county you are marrying in and they should lay it out very straight-forwardly for you!

Google “marriage license” and “the county you will be married in”  Then there should be a marriage and family link.  Depends on the state but they will be good for a month to 3 months.

Check with your state that you are marrying in.  It all depends.
