It costs $110 to get a marriage license where we live. For people planning a wedding party like most of the weddingbees, that cost is just a drop in the bucket, but really, that is a lot of money! For people who live paycheck to paycheck, that cost could be a limiting factor to getting married.
How much does it cost to get a marriage license where you live? Has the cost of the license influenced the timing of your marriage? Is there any financial assistance for the marriage license where you live?

Ours is 115 in MN. They knock it down to 40 if you do premarital counselling.

Ours was $65. Not too bad, I guess – I thought it’d be more.
Squirrelz15: I like that idea!

craigslistgirl: $25? Is what I think it was for the license. To pay the judge that was $100 or so. More expensive than yours. Despite being a little hefty for such a simple ceremony, it definitely saved us a ton of money.

I live in Ontario, Canada and a marriage licence costs $145.

craigslistgirl: $115 in Ontario. It’s another $15ish to get the certificate or $22 if you need the long form, once the marriage is registered.
It didn’t factor into our wedding plans, other than being a line item in a month’s to-do list.

I live in Oregon and our license cost $65. There is a 3 day waiting period, if we needed to have it waived it would have cost an additional $17.
