I know exactly how you feel. I was also hoping for a holiday proposal and it didn’t happen. Part of me is relieved because I want to be totally surprised on a day when I’m least expecting it, but like you I can’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment.

Don’t give up all hope yet… the Holidays are still underway (today is New Years)

And there are another 6-1/2 Weeks still in this Engagement Season (45 Days until Valentines)

I know how you feel! I think holiday/birthday proposals are kind of lame because I’d rather make a new special day out of an engagement rather than use a day that’s already special, but when SO didn’t propose on Christmas I was still a bit down.

If it makes you feel any better, my husband (And I!) don’t remember our dating anniversary. We just knew it was “some time in march” So we used the whole month to celebrate.

I’m sorry it hasn’t happened yet! I’m sure it’s coming soon, though!

I’m new to these parts, but just wanted to say i can totally relate. I am dealing with my own feelings of disappointment right now. But it’s nice to know I’m not alone.

@alicewhite87:  welcome to the club.  I knew he wasn’t going to propose for Christmas but I was still hopeful especially when he started asking me about rings a few weeks before that.  Hang in there, it’ll happen eventually.  Do you guys have a timeline, have you talked about it?

@alicewhite87:  I know the feeling. My SO and I both feel this way about proposing on holidays, but somehow I ALWAYS seem to think that it just might happen. I found myself hoping it would happen on Christmas, then on New Years… I guess I’m not as against the idea as I originally thought.
