- Wedding: March 2014
I had the venue for 5 days and all decorations were finally done. The night before the wedding i went out to eat with my fiance and his brothers and sisters one last time as a “single man, and woman” . We went to a steakhouse, and had a good time knowing tomorrow everything would be different.
i met my husband 3 years ago to this week, at a bonfire. he proposed after almost 2 years, and we married in the 3rd anniversary of the bonfire date.
He bought us a house while we were engaged, i moved in, after we did all our little renovations, and he waited until we were married to move in.
we have NEVER spent the night with each other in three years, and i was so looking forward to that.
The wedding day came, i woke up around 9, my mother and i picked up our flowers. ( i ordered them in bulk from the florist and just put them in jars)
We brought the flowers back to the venue and began snipping them to fit each jar on each table. We saved 2 , one for my fiance to wear, and one for my dad. and saved a couple for the cake. My cake was picked up the night before from walmart. ( It stayed in the venues fridge)
i had no wedding party.
i went back home around 12, actually took a nap, my fiance called few times , checking on when he was supposed to be there .
At 3 my hair/makeup woman came, a friend i graduated with from high school.
my photographer (sister in law) arrived as well.
over the next 2 hours, everything was done! it was 5 o clock, and time to head to the venue. i got there around 5:30, sneakily slipped into my room, just my mom, me and photgrapher. My mother helped me get my dress on, and they both left.
I HAD to take a “I ABOUT TO BE MARRIED IN 15 MINUTES” selfie.
My dad knocked in the door, i stepped out, combed the crowd of people there, i was shocked. Then i saw my fiance.
His face….. it was pouring with tears, he couldnt keep it together, and it will forever stay in my mind how beautiful he was crying.
he hates it, lol, but i love it. i took a deep breath, my music started, and in a few seconds i was beside him.
it honestly was a total blur, i know i said my vows, but i can’t tell you what i said, i can’t remeber a thing about anything. i was in a shock.
Luckily i have video, but the emotion swelling inside me, didnt allow me to focus on any one detail.
It seemed like seconds later everything was done, vows were said , we had kissed, it was time to go. we walked to the back of the building, we stood for MANY pictures, we went to each table and thanked them for coming, when we finally thought we could go eat, we sat down and literally had to get right back up to dance, we tried to sit down again after, and had to get back up to cut the cake, we sat down and had to get BACK up to take more pictures. i ate one small roll, and fiance ate some crumbs from a chicken tender.
the end of the night came SO quickly, guest were leaving, my fingerprint guestbook was full! we handed out sparklers, and before we could get out the door, half of the pople had already lit the sparkler and it was dead. so, those pictures are more……. us standing in a smoky parking lot. lol, we left in my *husbands* old army truck, and considered going through the mcdonalds drive thru, but his truck wouldnt fit, so we went home. (my caterer made us plenty of to go plates of all the food, and we each made a plate , sat on our couch, watched tv, and couldnt believe we were married.
it’s over and done with.
something we had always said ” it’s 20 weeks away” “it’s 7 months away” “it’s 12 days away”
and it was done. We were extremely tired, but also excited we would be sleeping beside each other ALL NIGHT, we went to bed ….. ….. ;)..
and it was the best feeling in the world to see his face in the morning. we were already packed, and headed to the mountains!
sorry for the mispellings and bad grammar.
