Does is say anything about it in your contract?  I would think the max would be 12 weeks, but some photographers may be busier/take longer.

Ask her for a specific date instead of such a vague answer. We got our pics on CD within 4 weeks.

13 weeks does seem long. We were told ours would take 12 weeks but they ended up taking just around 8 (which was a nice treat – right before Christmas!). On the other hand, if you got married during a busy season I can kind of understand things getting backed up. Does seem long though.

Our photographer told us 8 weeks, it’s now been 10 weeks since our March 8 wedding. I’m planning to hustle when it hits 12 weeks! He was about 3 weeks behind for our pre wedding shots and it was absolutely worth the wait. It’s annoying though!

Our wedding was April 12 and I just got our pics back. I think 13 weeks is pretty long, anything over 8 seems excessive. I’d definitely ask for a specific time frame on when you can expect them

It should say something on your contract. Our wedding was May 05 and our photographer put up the photos on his website on May 12 so we are now just waiting on the DVD on the mail.

I used to do photography.  13 weeks is not a lot if the photographer is busy.  Not wedding photograhy but still…  At times I would take 1 – 2 months to get finished photos back.  Have you gotten proofs back or seen anything at all?  And yes read the contract.  And it really depends on how many images you have going to you.  If you have a lot it will take longer.  Not a lot takes less time.  Does the photographer have an editor or assistant helping him?  Or is it all on him?

beautifullyboheamian:  I typically deliver images within 8-12 weeks. 8 during the slower months, and closer to 12 during the height of the season. Keep in mind there are always things that can be out of our control though – like the time I got the flu (from a sick flowergirl!!!) or losing power for hurricanes. However, those cases are rare and it’s one of the reasons I do my best to stay on top of editing. What does your contract say? I would just politely send an email expressing your excitement over seeing the photos and asking for an update?
