ok… we’ve been married for almost 2 weeks and ive noticed that instead of the diamond engagement & wedding rings i received that im wearing my back up ring (plain gold band) most of the time!
i have a very busy lifestyle outside the office. ocean swim every day (even in winter), scuba diving 2 or 3 times per week, personal trainer 3 times per week (boxing ect) and today i was asked by one of the staff "dont you like your rings as you never wear them"…. yikes, hope hubby doesnt find out as i was hoping for a diamond eternity ring for our 1st anniversary next year
anyone else married and forgetting to put the bling on after an activity?

I think that the wedding ring seems like it fits your lifestyle better. I wouldn’t bring up the fact that your not wearing your e-ring to him, but if he ever asks, tell him the truth. In this case, the truth is very logical.
I won’t be wearing a wedding band in the near future and I’m not sure if I’ll ever have one.

This would be why we’re having only plain gold bands as our wedding rings, and no engagement rings. Ok, that’s probably not what you wanted to hear… 😉

I would simply answer "Yes, I LOVE the rings and with all the action I do outdoors there’s no WAY I’d risk those rings"

This makes perfect sense to me. Why not have an everyday-active-life-style ring and then pretty shiny, sparkly rings that you put on when you’re on holidays or going out to dinner/work functions or what have you. Any reasonable bloke should not have any trouble understanding this.

I don’t think it’s a big deal. You can wear your fancy ones for shopping or out to dinner. The point is that you are wearing A ring – which is the symbolic part.
Honestly, I only wear my e-ring when I’m going out for an extended period of time. I never wear when I’m cooking because I don’t want it getting dirty and I usually don’t wear it when I’m just hanging out at home. My FI doesn’t mind 🙂
