OK, so I know that it is not so uncommon on Weddingbee for couples to get married legally at city hall, then have their wedding a few months later.
My Fiance keeps bringin this up as something that he is interested in. He has listed reasons such as it making the real wedding less stressful, and for car insurance purposes.
I don’t like the idea. I feel, if I did that, then when the “real” wedding came around, it would feel fake. I don’t want to be married to him until I am in my beautiful dress at our chosen location (which is a special location to me) with all of our family and friends.
Opinions, anyone? Would it really feel fake, or would it not matter?

A friend of my Darling Husband did this and he said it felt more real than the “real” one. Personally, I think once the day comes and you have friends and family around it will feel very real. All of the emotions will be just as intense. Just make sure you do what feels right for both of you.

Thanks. I am just hoping that he doesn’t really want to do it, because I don’t think it will be worth it.

Well, first, for joint car insurance you don’t have to be married.
Second, we got legally married the week of our wedding, and yeah, I did feel a little cheated. It felt silly because there we were being pronounced husband and wife… but we already were!
For some women, it doesn’t matter. For me, it did.
However, it was sort of nice because our little secret, so we were sneaking in little “I love you, husband/wife” whispers throughout the week.We did it because my brother was marrying us and I didn’t want to risk the legal stuff. But, I wish we had been able to do it the same day as our wedding. Now we have our “marriage day” and wedding day. We’re choosing our wedding day as our anniversary.
