It's been 5 weeks, and I'm DYING to get my pics back!!!  But I don't feel that I can email my photog about it - she's a family friend who shot the wedding for a song, and her recently deceased husband's birthday was this week.  So I reeeeeallly don't feel like I can pester her about it.  She's semi-pro; it's not her full-time job. Her work is generally great, but I have no idea what her typical turn-around time is.

How long did it take for you?

@Prewitt: were your photos 100% edited? I don't see how that is even possible!

OP: ours were back to us in 30 days. But, i've seen most women on here mention 6-8 weeks as their time frame. I think that's pretty standard for most pros - probably a good estimate for someone doing it in their spare time, too!

We had ours back in a month, but I believe that our photog had also specified in our contract that he would have the pictures to us in 6 weeks or less.

We got some Day After pictures we asked to get pretty quickly for our Thank You's 2 weeks after. Our wedding pictures? Now those will take a couple months because there are SO MANY.

I emailed my photographer what the expected time was (and I made sure to tell her I wasn't pressing her, I just didn't know).

Her top picks were on the blog in 4 days (3 days for those day after pics).

She says the rest will be done one month after the wedding--that's next week! :)

@crayfish: Oh, excellent point - she's editing all of ours, then putting them up on Shutterfly. I don't know how many there are, but I'm sure that takes a long time - esp. if you have a day job!

    Thanks, I find this reassuring.

What does it say in your contract? Each photographer varies in their turn around time, but the average is roughly 4-8 weeks.

just pop in next week with an email and ask time frame. always okay to clarify if it wasn't stated previously.

My contract said 4 weeks, but due to the fact that we got married during "busy" season i waited for almost 8 weeks - its ok - it was worth iT!
