Not married yet but we are doing a similar ceremony and so did my sister. Hers lasted 16 minutes.
Our ceremony was maybe 15 mins and we had one reading which was an Irish blessing
Our cermony was 25 minutes (10 minutes longer than we both had wanted) with three readings :-D
I think ours was about 20 minutes from processional to recessional. We had 2 readings, pretty average length. Our officiant was a little more wordy than necessary or it might have been even shorter.
Our interfaith ceremony was about 25-30 min's with 2 readings, which were somewhat lengthy.
Ours was about a half hour. Our rabbi is quite a talker though. We didn't have any extra readings, just the traditional stuff.
Ours was about 30 minutes. The officiant said some stuff at the beginning, then read a reading/quote that I requested "Love is patient, Love is kind", then we did our vows and ring exchange. After that we went and signed the Rigister (done in Canada), and then we went back to the front of the room by the arch and did our hand fastening ceremony. After that he announced "you can now kiss your bride" and then he ended with another reading we wanted and said a few closing words and we were done. The 30 minutes went really fast.
I think ours was about 25 minutes. It was a Jewish ceremony, but those are always pretty short, and we omitted some things and added others. We had two readings, both fairly short (maybe 2 minutes and 1 minute), and we said our own vows but they were only 30 seconds each. Everyone said it was a good length - meaningful but not boring.
Ours was about 10 mins long, and there was one reading. We wanted to ceremony to be as short as possible, and get the party started already!!
We wanted a really simple ceremony (non religious). We had no readings, no candle/sand ceremonies, etc. We did write our own vows though. In all I think ours was about 15-20 minutes. Our officiant welcomed everyone, honored our parents, talked a bit about us, had us say our vows, then said the traditional vows.
I've been wondering about this too! We're having a non-religious ceremony with three readings, a sand ceremony, and two songs. I'm hoping it's going to be about twenty-five or thirty minutes but we'll see!
awesome - thanks everyone! the general idea I have now is following (in case any planners are interested, found it online)..
processional, welcome, 1-2 readings or vocalist,
introduction to vows & vows, blessing of the hands & ring exchange,
sand ceremony, final words/pronouncement, and recessional

Just as the title implies - trying to get an idea of my ceremony in July!
I have 2-3 shortreadings I enjoy. We are each writing our own vows. I'm trying to figure out approximately how long it'll run - will it be too short, too long?
How long was your ceremony, and how many readings did you use?
