@elysion:  My husband dropped our license off in person, ordered and paid for 2 copies and we received the certificates in about 2 weeks.

If I were you, I’d go to a courthouse and order in person– if it has been processed, they will be able to just hand you a copy on the spot. If you didn’t order a copy when you sent in your license, I dont think they automatically send one.

We went to the Thompson Center 9 days after the wedding and just picked it up! We bought 3 or 4 copies.

@elysion:  yes – either our officiant or DOC mailed it, I’m not sure. We got married on a Saturday morning, so it either went out in the mail Saturday or Monday morning, and it was ready the following Monday when we got back from our honeymoon.

Our officiant mailed in the license right away, and it was processed and entered by the time we returned from our honeymoon about 10 days later.  I picked up certified copies of the marriage certificate at the Daley Center.  FYI, be sure to get extra copies if you think you’ll need them since the first copy is $15 (if I recall correctly), and each additional copy you get during the same visit is $3.  Also, it’s cheaper to pay in cash and avoid the credit card surcharge.
