- Wedding: October 2013
The past week and a half(ish) has really been the best ever. I am so thankful for all of my amazing friends and family who made the weekend of the wedding a success. We had FOUR (yes four!) fun and different events throughout the weekend- a German themed welcome party at our local beer hall Thursday, a fabulous rehearsal dinner Friday, the wedding (AHH!) Saturday and a great brunch/gift opening/ football watching party on Sunday. (even when its my wedding weekend, I can’t miss watching my Packers!) It was all amazing and unforgettable.
*A quick note- we did the “Wedit” thing and are SOOOO happy we did- we had the cameras for ALL of the events, which was great. They just sent us an e-mail saying our videos are ready to view- those will definitely keep me occupied as I wait for my pro pictures!*
Then we went on an amazing honeymoon to Barbados. We were at Couples: Barbados when the company announced that they sold the property to Sandals. So a “review” of the resort is a little useless, but I will say, if you are considering traveling to the island, DO IT. It is absolutely beautiful. Great beaches, good sights to see (lots of rum at the Mt. Gay distillery, YUM!) and SUPER friendly locals. It was really a great trip and I highly recommend it. J
Ok back to the wedding itself. A few minor things went wrong- including the priest forgetting about the “rings” part- don’t worry, he remembered and did it at the end! A little rain, a bit of confusion with a vendor , things like that. I know things always go wrong, so I didn’t sweat it. The only thing that annoyed me a bit was that dinner took WAY too long. Our eating space was a little unconventional, and the caterers were not totally used to it, so I think that slowed them down. Ugh. Its actually one of my pet peeves about weddings, so of course it would happen to me! But in the end it didn’t matter. The food was good, and we still had PLENTY of post dinner dancing.
As I (not so) patiently wait for pro photos, here are some guest pics.
me and my dad. you may remember my dad/stepdad drama- well what we ended up doing was they each walked me half way. this is the “hand off”.
