After 6 mos. of planning the full-on shebang we decided to cancel it all and elope in Mexico. My new husband’s brother & wife were there along iwth my brother & his live-in girlfriend. I did my own hair & makeup, as well as my bouquet & my grooms boutt. We are so glad we made the decision we did- it was a fabulous low key day where my biggest stresser was what to do with the 3 drinks the girls brought up for me at the same time!
We hired a great photog for just 3 hours since the whole thing was so small. It was really a step in the dark- I loved his portfolio but I had never met him or spoken with him other than e-mail. True story- I thought it was a lady until 2 weeks before we left for Mexico. Whoopsies!! He turned out better than we expected though- part of our package was to get 15-30 pics from him before we left for our reception with the family in Georgia (Wed.) but he had a link to 160 waiting in my inbox by Sunday night- only 1 day after the wedding! So if you need a photog in the Cancun/Riviera/Island area Hideki Falcon of Button Up is awesome!!!!
The hotel that handled everything was great too- we stayed at Privilege Aluxes on Isla Mujeres. They surprised us with all kinds of free extras we weren’t supposed to get like rose petals and tiki torches down the aisle, and even surprised us with a cake and cake topper for us to cut during dinner. We felt like we were treated like family there- I highly recommend the hotel!!!
Here’s a short recap of our pro photos! I hope you love them as much as we do!

thanks everyone! In all fairness we did plan it with the hotel coordinator for a few months, but with only 4 other guests, there wasn’t too much planning to be had! =)
