i.am.so.jealous!!!!
Please please tell me you have pics of your wedding (I love a scheduled elopement and all intimate weddings!) and of those charming cafes you enjoy coffee at?
Hm... I have a blurry iPhone shot. One of our four friends surprised us with a limo! And there's one pro-pic of my dress in the hotel where we got ready. I have to wait for the other pictures and it's kind of killing me :-).
Congratulations!! You were such a beautiful bride!
I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your expat experience in Italy. I am actually jealous since its my one of my favorite countries (aside from Switzerland). I live in the Netherlands, which takes some getting used to.
That's awesome! What brought you to Italy? FH and I have talked about living abroad one day and it seems so overwhelming! I'd love to know what you two's process was like getting over there and getting settled. Congratulations. (:
Congratulations!! My fiance and I will be honeymooning in Florence, Italy. Any suggestions are welcome!
I'm getting married in Malta (south of Italy I'm sure you know now that you are living over there)
We're actually moving to Malta a couple of months before our wedding. We can't wait! We have been there before (FH's family is actually from there) and decided that we're going to move away from Canada and try out the amazing mediterranean life that we have fallen in love with. We don't expect too many of our family and friends to travel that far for the wedding but we are inviting everyone anyways. We're guestimating around 100 will be invited and maybe half will attend. Congrats on your wedding and living in Italy!
Congratulations. Enjoy Italy! I'll be thinking about you while I plan my big to-do and wondering why I didn't elope!
italy! how amazing, i would love to visit there some day...what are you doing in italy (other than living the fabulous life!?)
We're in Venice where I'm on a Fulbright and the husband is lucky enough to have a job that lets him telecommute. We're very, very lucky and I can hardly believe it all worked out.
What great pics. And yes, I am still very jealous of your italian newlywed status in such a cool place!
Ok. Describe Venice for us!
Hmm... describe Venice? It's warm, wet, beautiful and kind of like living in a labyrinth :-). It doesn't hurt that it's a totally romantic city, too!
Congratulations on the Fulbright! Enjoy life in Italy! Would love to see more pics when you can post them.
<span style="font-family: tahoma, verdana; font-size: 13px; font-style: italic;">arizonabride , <span style="font-family: tahoma, verdana; font-size: 13px;">I'd love to see the pictures too! We're waiting on the photographer. She posted the one teaser pic of the dress and a friend took the limo photo with his iPhone, but that's it for now. I'm happy in a way that we could all just enjoy the day without our friends competing with the photographer, but on the other hand, I'm so photo-hungry now. It's only been two weeks, but I keep thinking that tomorrow there will be an email from our photographer telling me she's done. So I'm disappointed every morning ;-).
<span style="font-family: tahoma, verdana; font-size: 13px;">Thank you for the congratulations!
Congratulations! I adore Italy! So totally jealous!
I love the picture of you guys, just beautiful and relaxing :)

Hi - I don't know if anybody remembers me anymore after I kind of fell off the map with the last few very busy weeks. But we got married! And it was wonderful! Eloping is great, folks - our wedding day was beautiful, safe, and joyous. We brought our four guests with us through the whole day of getting ready, partying, San Francisco City Hall in all of its beauty, and a private room dinner at one of the best restaurants in the city. It was glorious.
We mailed our wedding announcements the day we left for Italy and the emails have been trickling in. No one is upset with us and they all seem to understand that we just couldn't deal with their crankiness anymore. There's been a lot of acceptance.
Now we're living in Italy and drinking truly great coffee every day. Life can work out and I *love* being married. It's two weeks today and I'm looking forward to our one month anniversary.
I just want to let people know that eloping can work. Having a black-tie planned elopement can work. Not telling your families is okay. Moving internationally is a heck of a lot of work, but fun. So many people are afraid of eloping, that there will be regrets. I'm so happy to say that we had a perfect wedding day and I wouldn't change one single thing about it.
