I am married! Yay! “We” (I) have to do thank you notes, and we need to write our return address on the back. Well, I plan on using both my maiden name and his name, not necessarily hyphened, but something like: Jane Doe Smith. He’s Mr John Smith, though.
How do we write both our names on the return address?
Mr John Smith and Ms Jane Doe Smith? Or should I just go for his??
Help!! Have to do these asap!

It’s really up to you. Thank yous are a little less formal than the rest of wedding correspondence, I think you could do away with the titles if you wanted. Here are three ideas:
1) Jane Doe Smith and John Smith
2) Jane & John
3) Omit names, use address only

I second chelseamoring’s advice, and would probably just use the address, especially if you’re handwriting the return addresses. If you’re not hand writing them, I’d use Jane Doe Smith & John Doe.

What about something like “The Happy Couple” and then your address?

Hmmm, I wonder how people do this and what you’ll do in the future.
Could you just put Mr. and Mrs. Smith?
How would you like future invitations to you and him as a couple to say Mr. and Mrs. ____ (his last name) which is usually considered proper …

I bought a stamp that just has our first names and our address.

I am also going for a stamp with just our names, so that way I can use it for the shower and the wedding presents 😉

I agree w/ just the first names, I think that is totally acceptable 🙂

I think first names are totally fine. I believe we just wrote our last name (I changed mine) and then the address, but I can’t remember for sure.
