- Wedding: August 2012
So, we had our wedding this past Friday, 8/10/12 and I just wanted to share a little bit about it in case it may help anyone else!
Of course – some things went wrong. We chose August because our venue has a beautiful garden with gorgeous flowers that we wanted to get married in. However, it rained all afternoon. I’m not talking sprinkles, but full on POURING rain with thunder. Therefore, the ceremony had to be moved inside. Only 1/2 of the chair covers that I ordered arrived on time, so some were not covered. The DJ goofed a little on our ceremony exit music. Our photographers left before our sparkler exit since I accidentally told her the reception only went til 11 rather than 12.
However, despite all that, it was the most fantastic night of our lives. Having the ceremony inside turned out to be quiet, intimate and absolutely lovely (although if one more person told me rain on your wedding day is good luck I would have screamed!). The venue ladies and my mom managed to keep the chair cover issue from me, and I didn’t even notice until they told me after the reception! The mess up with the exit music just made a moment that we laughed at with our guests. Our guests took photos of the sparkler exit.
Bottom line – we loved it. I wish I hadn’t stressed as much in the beginning so I could have enjoyed myself as much as I did at the end. So my advice – enjoy EVERY minute, it goes by so quickly! Get a great DJ – there is nothing better than dancing all night! Don’t sweat the small things as some things will go wrong no matter how much you plan. Take a minute during the wedding to stop and look around and realize everyone is there celebrating your relationship – it really is such an amazing feeling!
And of coure, a recap non-pro photo 🙂
