    Hi everyone!

I'm hoping this thread will generate some ideas for me because I am just stuck!

My FI and I have been best friends for the past... oh, maybe 6 or 7 years. I met him when in was in 10th Grade and he was in College. Obviously our story is nice and long and complicated (haha) so I won't bore you with details!!!

My question is: we need music - mostly for the ceremony. We are VERY non traditional. To give you an idea, here is our invitation (designed by yours truly):

Marrying My Best Friend - Literally! Music Ideas??? : wedding ceremony music processional recessional prelude best friend cute upbeat fun Invitationfront

Marrying My Best Friend - Literally! Music Ideas??? : wedding ceremony music processional recessional prelude best friend cute upbeat fun Invitationback

As you can see - it's a postcard style invitation. VERY us :)

But I am having such a hard time finding music - I'm looking for something cute, upbeat and maybe somehow best friendy? I've been parousing the net for days and just haven't found "the song" yet.

I thought we could play songs like "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and cute stuff like that for the prelude. But I'm REALLY stuck on the processional. There are 2 bridesmaids, 2 groomsman, 1 maid of honour and 1 best man, and of course, myself and the groom!

Have any of you been to a wedding that was really fun and upbeat? We don't want the whole solemn tearful entrance thing - we'd love for there to be some cheering!!! :)

Our Bridesmaids walked in to The Beatles I Will I had 4 bridesmaids including my MOH

For my processional we didn't stay as upbeat but still used a non-traditional song

So Are You to Me by Eastmountainsouth

Hope that helps the ideas going... and I LOVE LOVE LOVE your postcard invite. I so shoulda gone that route. lol

Have you heard of the Weepies? (I know, the name sounds sad, but trust me it is deceiving!) Their songs are just happy and upbeat and the "band" is made up of a married couple which I think is so sweet and romantic. Judging by your invitation (which I love!) I think they'd be perfect! I really like:

    All This Beauty

    Be My Honeypie

    Be My Thrill

    Simple Life

And if you want upbeat... I think FI and I will exit to "I Was Made For Sunny Days." So fun!

Okay this might sound a bit odd, but I'm totally planning to use it for some part of my wedding because Mr. Cappugcino and I are each others best friends too.  The theme song to the Golden Girls  - Thank You for Being A Friend was written and originally recorded Andrew Gold.  It takes it out of the GG realm when performed by someone else and is pretty awesome.  You can hear it on you tube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2j91hrghPbg&feature=related

If we don't use it for the recessional or precessional - we are definitely using it in the prelude playlist.

My SO and I just got back from a completely gorgeous, non-traditional wedding in Jackson, WY, and the couple plays in a band together (singer/song-writer/guitar types), and some of their music might be perfect.  Upbeat, eclectic, folksy... here's a link to the music (Aaron Davis and Seadar Rose): http://aarondavismusic.com/music/.

Not sure if this fits the bill, but for some reason, "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson pops into my head.
