Hi vnichole,
I'm catholic living in NC and getting married in AZ. We found our own priest from a different parish than the church we are getting married in and it's worked out great. Have you talked to the church to see if there was any way to use the church as a venue and that you would bring your own priest with you on the day of?
I think it's easier to bring in your own priest, if you can swing it at all. The parish where we're getting married has a rule that it only marries parishioners...but they relented when we showed them it wouldn't be any hassle for them, we'd bring our own priest (a friend of a family friend) and clean up afterwards. ![]()
Good luck!

Hello All,
For those who married at churches (catholic) outside of their parish, did you use a priest from your own parish or find one of your own? I'm trying to get married at a church in Philadelphia, but am having trouble finding a priest who will marry us. The church we'd like to get married at only presides over cermony's for parishioners.
Any advice?
