Has anyone used a Mary Kay wedding artist for their wedding makeup? I just received a phone call that I won my wedding day makeup for free from a bridal expo I went to, and I'm wondering if anyone has used them or anything?? Any info is great, since I've never used them or their products before! Thanks!

Just FYI every time me or my friends have gone to any bridal show, we got a phone call that we won a make up party and our make up for our wedding from Mary Kay so dont feel pressured to take the free prize. I dont know how their products are but just wanted to share that.

Right.. I totally agree. She said that she will come out and like do trials as much as I need, but I was just wondering if anyone else has used them for their wedding makeup or anything similar :)

They will do you makeup trial free, the business for them is if you like the skincare product you will purchase then or at a later date. If you don't like it just be clear and get your point accross. The money for them is in the skincare products and selling to you at the trial or after.

I have never had a Mary Kay consultant actually do my makeup, but in general I really think Mary Kay has a good product line. Their eyeshadows last and don't crease, and they have pretty good color selections. Their Time Wise Facial line is one of my favorites of all time. And they even have some pretty good perfume. I'd say go for it and have a trial with her. Really all they want is the opportunity to get more business out of you, and if it's free for you, why not? Just make sure not to let them get pushy...Mary Kay has some of the pushiest sales people I've ever met.

lol, i got the same phone call, haven't called them back yet though. i used to order mascara from them and i had the pushiest salesperson who convinced me to host a mary kay party. i had to cancel on her like 5 times because i couldnt get anyone to come to the party!

i remember though i used to get lipstick and mascara and would consistently go back to her even though i hated how pushy she was because it was damn good mascara!

i was thinking i will call them back and get a free trial or see if they can teach me how to my makeup.  but i am not sure about their color selection.

I have lots of fun at their parties they have =) Though I have never had them do my makeup. I won some kind of bridal package (gift certificates for me and my bridal party, help getting our makeup colors coordinated and help us get super perty skin) I am pretty dang excited!

my friend had a mary kay consultant do the make up at her wedding. She did a really good job. We had a meeting before hand & the bride picked out the make up she liked & the lady showed up the day of the wedding & did it. She didn't pressure any of us to buy anything--although we did cause we all love mary kay. but im from a small town so this might not be how it is every where

@PurpleUnicorn: My consultant is soooo nice! 3 of my bridesmaids probably won't have a problem with going but one might because she is a Clinique girl LOL When I turn 18 I am going to become a consultant just for a little extra money =)

I'm considering a Mary kay consultant to do my wedding make up as well. And like always, she will do free trials and consultations. I was actually going to do make up myself or have my friend do it, but when I found out she would be there the whole day (and do touch ups) for only $25, I figured I might as well pay her to do it. I'm going to do a consultation/trial in the next few weeks, so I'll tell you how it goes! I'm guessing she will redo the make up until it is up to your standards!

I had an aunt who used to sell Mary Kay, and I loved getting makeup from her for presents. It is good quality stuff and I loved how long the lipstick lasted. Go for it, I'd say! Yeah, it is a business so she will probably suggest buying something. But you could order something like a lipstick... kind of how you'd buy a product when you get your make up done at a makeup counter.

I'm having a Mary Kay consultant do my makeup, and my girls, if they want it done.  She's one of my mom's best friends, so I've known her my entire life basically.  She did my makeup for prom, and seemed like the best option for the wedding, since I can be honest with her and she knows what works for me.  =)

My hubby's cousin sold MK and she did my makeup for the wedding. I thought it was great, I never touched it up all day and I think it looked good.

never get your bridal makeup done with mary kay.  Although not a bridal makeover or trial, I've had 2 bad experiences that did not like at all.

I'll be having a MK consultant do my makeup as well as my bridesmaids.  Basically, I just have to buy enough products to pay for her time there and she does all of our makeup so we all look cohesive (so I don't have one bridesmaid look out of place if she wears more makeup than the rest).  But I don't know if that's how all MK consultants work.  She is quite a pushy salesperson -  but to tell the truth, she's probably 50 years old and looks about 30 after using the MK products for the past 30 years - so obviously the products work well!  And the first time I did a trial with her, she nailed my colors and the look I was going for perfectly!  I can't wait for her to do my makeup for my wedding!

i am having a mary kay consultant do mine and my girls make-up. the main perk was that she was coming to me and it's $25. the thing i didn't really like is that they call them 'trials' but they are really parties(well mine are anyways). the first one she made it seem like she was gonna get all the girls together and then go over eye color, skin tone, etc...which she did, but then did a full on 'facial party' where she was selling the products. i was a little surprised by that, and felt bad because people bought a lot of stuff, which i never intended them to do.

Hi Ladies, I actually am a Mary Kay Consultant and although it is just a job on the side- I do have to say the product line is great. Since its not my full-time job, (I started selling it just to get a good deal on makeup when I was in college lol), I'm not too pushy with sales. I think in this economy it just has to be a give or take :) Any ways- if you are interested in any of there product I can take orders!!
