check out the Tower Hill Botanic Garden, it’s in Boylston, MA. It’s gorgeous with lots of greens so I think it’ll be great for a Fall wedding.

for photography, check out Heather Parker Photography, Clyde Yeung Photography and Nicole Chan Photography. Make sure to check out their engagement pictures as well as wedding pictures if you do decide to take engagements. I have noticed some discrepancies sometimes between a photographer’s wedding and engagement pictures and you don’t want any surprises after you’ve signed the contract and paid the deposit.

Good luck on your wedding planning!

Not sure how much they charge, but Old Sturbridge Village is gorgeous in the fall.

When my bff from high school got married, she went with Normand Ashley photography and LOVED them. They are actually a husband and wife team and they do great work! I’m unsure of what she paid – I think it might have been closer to $3k, but they were truly fantastic.

I have no idea for a venue, but for a photographer, check out Once Like A Spark, they are amazing and their photographers are willing to travel etc. if necessary! They are quite a bit on the expensive side (prices start at 2400$ for a wedding package) but I loved every single picture of our engagement shoot and I’m sad we cannot have them at our wedding cause we’ll marry back home in Canada and they don’t travel that far… : (

Edit: oh and for a DJ, it depends in which region your venue will be, but I know a very good DJ around Providence/New Bedford/Fall River; he has all his own material and also backups, and I don’t think his prices are too expensive, he is kinda young but he has over 10 years of experience, here’s his contact: https://www.wedj.com/dj-photo-video.nsf/vendors/8EF3B9B1A685430886257B8D0051893B.html

imsandradee:  I’m getting married on the South Shore. We were planning a city wedding, but we found a venue that was better within our budget.

There’s the Nashoba Vineyard. If we got married out there, we definitely would have held it there. And I second the botanical gardens- FI’s brother was married there and they loved it.

DJ’s usually will let you send them a song list, or they can make suggestions. They are usually pretty flexible.

For photography, once you’ve checked out their blogs and pictures, you can always contact them for a price quote… and then you can decide whether you want to trim on something else to be able to afford the photographer you want or not…

Vineyards are nice, but you have to see how the vines are going to look like during the Fall season because if it’s late fall, the vines might be “naked” and not look as good in pictures.

imsandradee:  It was so hard to find a reasonably priced photographer who had a style and vision that did not have 5 hours of their time starting at $4K. I was really picky and had had to up my budget to get the expertise that I wanted. If you have wiggle room in your budget, Hello Love Photography starts at $3500 and doesn’t have set hours (she has 1 hr of getting ready photos and stays 1 hr after dancing starts) – I recently secured her as my photographer. Tell her that Amy Z. sent you! Also a note on another bee’s suggestion – Nicole Chan Photography is absolutely gorgeous! I wanted to hire her but her pricing starts at $4200 (her associate Karen starts at $3500).

  • Wedding: September 2014 - Stevens Estate

Not sure where you are in mass but I’m getting married in north Andover at the Stevens estates..it’s absolutely gorgeous..they have beautiful manicured gardens and outdoor ceremony spot..you can have your reception in their outdoor tent or inside which is amazing because it’s an old mansion. I don’t know all their prices but we paid 5k for the venue..which didn’t include food or open bar.

For photography I used classic photographers in Middleton, ma..they have multiple photographers to choose from and have been great thus far. Our engagement pics turned out really nice, even though I hated how I looked in them lol..but he did a good job with taking the pics. Oh and if your looking for a caterer..A Day To Remember is amazing! By far my favorite vendor so far..we had our tasting and it was unbelievably good. Good luck!

imsandradee:  For DJ, check out Shawn Santanello/Viren Entertainment. He is based in East Longmeadow but travels. He was very reasonably priced and awesome to work with. We actually had guests comment about how approachable he was during the reception and how he played their requests right away. He can also help with lighting and photobooth if you need him for that. We paid extra to have him play acoustic guitar during the cocktail hour and he was fantastic!

I’m not sure if you are open to Northern CT but Tyrone Farm is gorgeous. I’m not sure what they charge and I’ve actually only been there for their horse related events but I’ve heard great things about their weddings. Old Sturbridge Village was mentioned and that place is definitely pretty but very unique. You could also try Zukas Hilltop in Spencer. Again, not sure what they charge but it is quite pretty.

I would also highly recommend the photographer we used but I’m not sure if he is in your budget. He had multiple different packages and we paid extra for a photo album and a second photographer. His name is Seth Kaye and he is in Chicopee. He was amazing. Super professional, loves what he does and we love every picture he took.

Make sure you compare each photographer’s pricing because “starting at XXX” might mean time + files and another photographer’s “starting at XXX” can mean time + file + engagement + etc…

you cannot just compare monetary value, see what it gives you for that value and then you can decide whether it fits your needs or not…

We got married two weeks ago and used Jamie Guillet. SHE IS AMAZING! She is just starting to do more weddings so she has great prices and has a second shooter with her as well. Here is a link to her facebook: https://www.facebook.com/J.GuilletPhotography?fref=photo

You’d have to ask her what her current rate/plans are, but for us they were well UNDER what you said is your budget!

We only have one sneak peak so far but here it is:

I’m getting married at Tower Hill, so of course I would recommend that 🙂  You might also want to check out Old Sturbridge Village, Harrington Farm, Endicott Estate, Chocksett Inn, and Independence Harbor.

We’re using Scratch Weddings for the DJ, and we’re paying $1250 for 5 hours.

Our photographer is $3800 for 6 hours (no albums, added on an engagement shoot for $600) and we absolutely love her.  I know she’s above your budget, but if you want to check her out her website is jwestwedding.com

We chose Erik Kruthoff Photography (http://www.erikruthoff.com) for our photographer.  He offered all-day coverage for $2k.  We LOVE our photos and are so glad we found him.  See if he’s available!  Good luck!
