@hmarkey811:  I think these all sound lovely, but I am from the train of thought that the gifts for your bridesmaids should be something uniquely picked out for each girl. Massages would be nice, but if you have some extra money to spend, maybe look in to getting something uniquely special for each girl?

It isn’t that you can’t give them some little tokens (charms, wine glasses, sugar scrub) or something to benefit your wedding (the silk robes), but I think your girls would be vey much appreciated to get something that reflects their own tastes and personalities too!

If all the girl’s woulld be into it, I say thats a lovely idea! I however, have never gotten a professional massage, so it scares me a bit haha!

@hmarkey811:  Just be careful. A relaxing massage is a lot different than a “real” massage. The stuff you get in a spa doesn’t do anything for me, but a real massage helps a lot (except it hurts so bad I have literally cried before). I would not want to do this before your wedding in fear of not being able to walk the next day.

I think it’s a nice sentiment though and you sound like a great friend 🙂

@MrsPanda99:  so true.

For my Bach party, my bms and I went out to get a massage.  I had never had one before and I thought it would be fun and relaxing. Instead, I was in serious pain!  It hurt so bad I thought he was going to kill me!  It wasn’t a good idea to get it right before the wedding. I was super sore and in pain… :(. But anyway, I think just a relaxing spa type of massage would be fun!

@sommertime:  I will only get them on Friday afternoons if I can sleep in the next day. It’s agony. I don’t know how anyone can enjoy them. I see no point to the spa type ones though. If I wanted candles and oil rubbed on my skin, I have an FI for that. If I’m paying, I want some kind of benefit. The real massages do feel better after a few agonizing days 😛

What?! Forget trying to be “unique” and getting something you think they’ll individually like. If I was your BM, I would be thrilled you are treating me to a massage rather than say buying me a necklace you think I’ll like. A pampering evening with your girls sounds like a great gift!

A gift is a GIFT!

I wouldn’t like it. The only person rubbing my body is my husband.

I would love it! I regularly get both relaxing and “real” massages. Make sure the lady knows you intend for these massages to be relaxing ones and y’all shouldn’t be sore the next day!

Careful about getting massages too close to the wedding date. Most massage therapists would not recommend it due to soreness the day after.
