@dfutureNP:  DH got mine at the Jared’s in Burlington!

If you look there, look for the older woman with the accent. She’s been selling engagement rings for 35 years, and DH said if it wasn’t for her, he probably wouldn’t have bought a ring as soon as he did! (She wasn’t pushy, just SUPER knowledgeable… He said “I have 10k to spend, I think she likes round. And Little diamonds on the sides?” And she helped him pick the PERFECT ring!)

My ring and diamond were purchased out of state but it was set (and later sized) at Goldsmith Co. in Brookline – they were great to work with and very helpful in the whole setting process. Many other area jewelers would not set a diamond that had not been purchased in their shop.

I highly highly recommend Crosby Jewelers in Needham. My mother and grandmother have been going to Al (the owner) for all the jewelry they have ever purchased. He seems to always be in the shop. He was so kind to us and upgraded my ring for free (from .5 to .7). He resized it for free. Twice for free actually since my finger changed sizes over the next year. I am definitely buying my wedding band from there. The best advice I can say is don’t go to a chain. We went to one first and would have spent thousands more which sadly is not an exaggeration since we compared prices. I absolutely love my ring… good luck!!

My diamond was from Blue Nile (highly recommend!) and the setting we got at E.B. Horn in downtown crossing. We chose them because they were the only verragio ring dealer which is what i wanted.

They were helpful enough and the ring turned out perfect. I don’t think they treated us amazing because we didnt buy one of their diamonds or rings off the shelf…so they kind of seemed pissy towards us, which i didn’t appreciate since we were still spending a lot of our hard-earned money.

Here’s my ring though!

We knew the ring (a Tacori) that we wanted and the jewelers that carry the brand are limited.  We got it from Barmakian in Framingham.

My husband got his band from ADCO in the jewelers building.  I agree that building is so overwhelming.

@dfutureNP:  Haha, it wasn’t stressful for me but I bet it was for my fiance!

Here’s my ring – the band was ordered online from Gabriel & Co, the diamond was purchased from a jeweler in Los Angeles, set altogether at Goldsmith Co!

@dfutureNP:  Thanks! I’m glad it did too! And i will admit finding the light to make it sparkle the most is a fun past time when you are bored. 😛

@dfutureNP: Thanks!!  Well I showed him pictures of cushion cut halo rings that I liked and saw online when browsing, but he found the jewler and pick it out all by himself and designed the band.  He did an amazing job!

@dfutureNP:  I hope to get a second opinion.  I’m not sure what I’ll do if another place comes back with a low appraisal.  I still love it though.
