- Wedding: October 2010
Hi bees – This is my first post, but certainly not the first time I’ve used the board to help me find my way in wedding planning madness. (For the most part I’m loving it). Okay so everything is moving along, but I’m really torn about something – the bridesmaid’s shoes! I’ve been to many weddings where the ladies all look so lovely and then their shoes are just all over the place. I certainly like people’s style to come through, but it can also look hodge-podge if there are to many colors/styles. (I think.)
I had requested the gals wear gold (to go with their soft amber color dresses) and then one maid (FSIL) found bronze. Okay, I thought, maybe they should all wear bronze. Then found out one realllly doesn’t like bronze. Okay, we can go with both colors… But now I’m thinking it will look a bit mixed up and I was going to get them gold jewelry and have their bouquets wrapped in gold. In the meantime, two more found gold flats they really like (one is preggers the other is tall) so now I’m thinking that I should just let them wear what they want and be done with it.
My question to the bees is, did most ladies request a certain color and have your maids stick with that? I can always just say go for gold and let Future Sister-In-Law borrow my gold wedges (which were near impossible to find!). Oh, and we’re getting married on the lawn which means heals could be tough to walk in – hence the flats and wedges. I really want this to be stress-free but also look cohesive.
Thanks for you help!
