What field will he be in?
We got our info in December because the military match is a little different. But we only found out a few weeks ago that his orientation starts the Monday after the wedding, thus messing up honeymoon plans 
(He'll be in ENT.)
Congratulations! My fiance is a programmer at a medical school, but on match day his job is to man the fax machine to help all the med students who didn't get matches that are frantically looking for places to take them. So I know it's a big deal! Congrats on getting your first choice!!
Anesthesia. Luckily we have time for a honeymoon. We scheduled our date anticipating that we would have at least a week. He'll also have some time to recover from the honeymoon before starting too!
FI's friend of a friend also did a military match and will be near San Antonio.
This is so neat to hear about all the other people anticipating match day last week. We got our first pick, Cincinnati here we come! Living in Iowa my whole life I am looking forward to something different.

slanders, what specialty?
I feel like I can finally start making a lot of decisions I've been holding off on. It's been amazing!
Hehe this is fun =) We're actually going to do a pre-moon (?) instead, since he's got three weeks between graduation and the wedding, so we'll take a week off in there. We guessed right about when it would start, but not the three weeks(!) of orientation.
We were worried about the match, because if he didn't get his/our first choice (Walter Reed, DC), the other options were WA, HI, and TX. Which would really suck since I'm still going to be in school here in VA. So yeah, very happy 
cricketpe, I've known several people who went through the scramble. It's a huge mess... keeping the fax machine in order has got to be high pressure!

Kleverkiera- Its my fiance who matched last week and he matched in Internal Medicine. He's doing a Clinical Scientist Research Pathway. We both are lab nerds.
Ooh I just went through this a couple of weeks ago, my FI is a 4th year Med student, the canadian match date was March 6th. It's such a relief to finally know where we are going to go. We currently live in City A, we are now moving to City B (he starts July 1st) and the wedding is June 21st in City C. Talk about a lot of things going on.
Where are the fourth year med student BRIDES????? You need to represent!

Congratulations! I remember that day a long time ago. I'm actually finishing my EM residency this year. My only advice---relax until you start. No one knows anything when they start so enjoy yourself b/c intern year will stink. Good luck to all those brides getting married b/w med school and residency.
fortunately (or unfortunately), i wasn't together yet with my FI for his match day but i started dating him about 6 months into his 5 year surgical residency. good luck to all the brides with FIs in medicine. It's an exciting (but tough) journey! I still have another year left... its like neverending.......

slanders- my bestest friend's fiance just matched for ENT in Cincinnati! I am very excited for them because it was also his first choice and its the only place outside of Chicago where she knew people, but I am so sad to lose her! Their wedding is June 6, he moves to Cincy on June 15. Too crazy.

Deonise, thankfully we're moving to the city where we're having our wedding. I can't imagine how much we would be spending on airfare and such if we had matched somewhere else. Good luck with all of the moving, etc.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only bride who was anticipating Match Day for my fourth-year med student FI.
Thankfully, we got our first choice and will be moving from Houston to Nashville a month before the wedding.
