My MOH (age 30) and Bridesmaids (2 – ages 36 and 14) are wearing ‘convertible’ dresses. That way, they all have the same colour and fabric, but they can be tied in different ways to best suit each girl’s personal style and shape. I am letting them go freestyle for their hair, shoes and accessories too. I wanted them to each feel comfortable and beautiful. I am, however, keeping a closer eye on my 14 year old cousin/goddaughter. I want her to look beautiful, but still look 14, not 20. She has restrictions on her shoe height and no heavy make up.

I didn’t see the need for my MOH to be dressed differently. I figure she will stand out as MOH by standing right next to me, holding my bouquet and train, giving a speech and all the other MOH things she will do.

My bridesmaids are wearing little black cocktail dresses of their own choosing (any brand/fabric, knee length or shorter, no patterns just solid black).  They’re also wearing nice black shoes of their choosing (I said no sneakers, flip flops, or Toms/canvas).  Honestly, they’re thrilled that they can either pick something they know they will wear again or pull something out of their closets.

Everyone will know who my MOH is because she will stand right next to me during the ceremony – plus, she’s my sister, and we kinda look alike 🙂

I can’t pick any of those.. but my BM’s will all be in the same style, different colors, freestyle (mostly) hair, freestyle shoes, and matching jewelry (matches their dresses) … I missed the question about how MOH will stand out… MOH will match the pop of color in my dress 🙂

@msreg08:  I got mine from a seller on etsy. She was AMAZING to work with! She sent swatches for free, was felxible with my delay (We put the wedding off for a year), had the dresses done 2 months earlier than she thought and they were shipped to Canada with no problems.  Here is a link to her page, if you want to check them out.

None of the options are applicable to us…they have the same dress colour but different dresses and shoes and accessories. They also have differnt hair does. I’m not a massive fan of symmetry!

Odd ball out again lol i promise its not on purpose! But yea i’m not really into the whole let my BM’s do what they want…negative. They will have the same dress, shoes, and hair..I haven’t thought about accessories but most likely they will. The only one who will have a different dress style is my MOH but it won’t be THAT different. My BM dresses will be strapless and MOH will too just something different added or taken off. But that’s just me…

My girls all had JCrew dresses in the same color and fabric but different styles. I gave necklaces to all 3 but my MOH had 2 strands instead of 1.

Everyone wore a different dress.  All four dresses had a similar cut (tea length, sleeveless but not strapless, v-neck, cinched waiste) but were different colors and styles.  The colors all worked together and tied into the rest of the look of the wedding.  My MOH actually wore a dress she had already bought for another wedding.  I didn’t tell anyone how to do their hair or makeup, but I gave them the option of booking with my person and offered a subsidy for hair.  (The subsidy would have entirely covered the cost of the cheaper hair alternative, too.)  Three of the four chose to have their hair styled.  As it turns out, they all chose to wear their hair down, which was a coincidence.  Mine was up.

It turned out great.  And everyone looks comfortable and like themselves in the photos because we didn’t have to pick one look for four different shapes/sizes/styles.

    went bridesmaid dress shopping today…..

My original thought was same colour, different style (but had to be knee length, bridal satin, and not one shoulder)…..came out with ….THE SAME DRESS….we happened to find that one dress that looks good on everyone!  woo hoo!

Each BM can accessorize with whatever they want (shoes are silver, but any style), and do their hair and makeup however they want…..I want to keep them looking like themselves and not like cookie cutter bridesmaids…

I choose a dress that looks great on all of them.  i originally was going to only have 2 girls and was going to have them in different styles & colors, but my fiance didn’t like the idea, and prefered one dress over the other.  So now I have 4 bridesmaids all the same dress, and the same earings which relate to mine.  I really dont care what they do with their hair as long as it is done…ok one girl can be a little too over the top with her hair so perhaps I need to help them choose something.  As for shoes I will let them choose as long as it is black and dressy.

We were on a tight budget, and short notice so I didn’t want to make my bridesmaids buy a dress at the last minute. But since each of them was talking about buying a dress anyway, I ended up giving them a length (around knee length) and general color scheme (blue, aqua, or teal) and lettiing them choose their own. It turned out great, and I loved it.
