Please help me to decide what veil I should choose for my summer wedding. My gown is a Pronovias. It’s a light chiffon gown with gold embroidery on the waist. First I was thinking of a birdcage veil, but I think I should go with a more traditional veil after all.
The dress has also a quite different upper part, because it has a bow that goes around the neck. Therefore the dress is in itself quite unique, and I want to complement this uniqueness (not ruin it with too much stuff).
So, I was thinking about a shorter veil with some embroidery, but not too much. I don’t think that satin edges would go well with my gown. Am I totally wrong? Would it be better to choose a veil without any embroidery, or with some? Or what about a long cathedral veil? My favorite veil would look like this one below, but without the lace applique.
Here’s one with satin edges:
As to my hair, I was thinking of having an “casual” updo, something like this:
I’m so hopeless with matching stuff that I desperately need your help! Thanks! 🙂

I think a very simple veil would look best with your dress. Your dress is beautiful and so unique. I also have a chiffon gown but it’s a Maggie. I definitely lusted after your designer though. Gorgeous dresses!

I don’t think the satin-edged veil would work in this case, because your dress isn’t rigidly semetrical and the veil would have a harshly straight line compared to your dress. And I agree with you that a birdcage wouldn’t quite work either, against the soft chiffon of the dress.
You want a veil made of something very soft. A cathedral length would work well, because it makes a dramatic statment just like your dress. I’d probably skip the blusher in front if it’s all the same to you, since you want to keep it simple and wouldn’t want to hide the bow detail on the dress.

Thank you so much for your comments so far!
Now that I’ve started this, I could also ask for your assistance concerning jewerly. Obviously I won’t be wearing a necklace, but what do you think about earrings and a bracelet? Should I wear pearls or swarowski-stones or what? Only earrings or also a bracelet?
This is what I was thinking (not these exact products but somehting similar), feel free to comment. Please also feel free to continue commenting on this veil-issue. Thank you! 🙂

Haha wow lots of jewelry choices! I like the no. 3 earrings the most, because I feel that they match the style of the belt on your dress. That dress makes such a confident statement about the person wearing it that you need “statement” jewelry to match. Go big on the bracelet too.

I think a simple veil, the 5th earrings, and a simple one strand bracelet to match the earrings maybe something like a tennis bracelet?

What a GORGEOUS dress!
Wanna buy my veil? (PM me if you’re interested!) If not, I at least think the style of it would work:

I’m waiting to get my veil for that etsy seller. I think her veils are the epitome of simple elegance and romance.
