i looooooooooved the belly band! wore it till the day i delivered. Whoop! I’d suggest empire waist dresses and when it starts getting cool just add tights/leggings with them. by the time my pregnancy was over i had about 15 empire waist dresses haha.

PS- i HATED that in between stage too. but it’ll pass quickly 🙂

I’m right in that stage too. It is frustrating. Thankfully I have some skirts that fit and most of my pants still fit, but they are starting to get tight and fit differently. With it getting cooler, I have less options in my closet. I have two empire waist dresses that I’m wearing with open cardigans, and I’ve started pulling out my button/sip sweaters and cardigans to wear over tees. Right now regular tees and tanks still fit and cover the belly, but I’m going to invest in some maternity tees and tanks soon to wear under my sweaters all winter. Just remember, soon you’ll pop and will look and feel pregnant. I hate feeling like I look chubby instead of pregnant, but soon it will pass.

Get some wrap dresses!  Seriously, they are so comfy, and they fit me from before being pregnant to the beginning of third trimester.  Plus, I could wear them after birth, until I went down to my pre-pregnancy size.  I also have a couple shirt and sweater dresses I wore with a belt that fit until my belly started really growing in the third trimester.

Don’t worry, the frumpy stage only lasts a few weeks, and then you’ll have an adorable bump! In the meantime, try wearing empire waist dresses with a big belt right below the bust. That’s what got me through the frumps.

dont know what your weather is like but ANYTHING with an empire waist(cut uner the breast) should be perfect and you may be able to wear later cuz your breast size may stay the same for a while (especially if you breastfeed)

Also depending on your size, the only maternity stuff I’d buy is like pants(jeans or slacks) cuz everything else you can probably just get a bigger size…the mark up on “maternity clothes” is ridiculous IMO

I plan on buying a few pairs of dress pants for work that are maternity style. I like these ones a lot.

For shirts and sweaters I think its rough for winter pregnancies but I am gonna try to just buy larger sizes and see how that goes.

I had some good luck the other day at Motherhood Maternity and Pea in a Pod. I like that the clothes are based on your pre-maternity size. I bought a bella band…how awesome! I don’t need it yet, but I figure I will soon.

Don’t forget to look at consignment stores. We have a couple of higher end stores that have a great selection of maternity clothes, along with wrap dresses, empire waist etc.
