I’m even earlier than you (10 weeks) but I’ve already bought a couple pieces since I bloated up really early and my pants didn’t fit anymore.  I’ve read that the over-belly styles are more comfortable for the whole pregnancy, because as you start to get bigger the under-belly ones can give you kind of a muffin-top.  I really like the over-belly jeans I’ve been wearing, because it already feels more snug and secure (even though I really don’t have a true belly yet).  I can’t help on advice for plus-sized maternity clothes, but in trying on stuff so far I’ve found that I like the shirts and dresses at Old Navy, but not their pants – I really don’t like the way they design their belly panel.  My jeans are from Target, and they’re super comfy.  There may be more expensive styles that are better quality, but I’m cheap 😉 I don’t want to spend a fortune on clothes that will get limited wear.

Hey!! I’m a size 18 too and I’m at 20 weeks so I’ve been buying a lot of maternity clothes lately.  I’ve found the biggest selection is online.  In store selection is usually very limited.  I recommend Old Navy and Target for the most affordable options.  Target online has a huge selection and all their clothes go up to XXL which is really helpful.  Destination Maternity has like one rack in store and limited selection as well, but I did buy a nice pair of over-belly jeans which are super comfy and look great.  Kohls has some good/afordable maternity options online as well.  I agree with the PP, over-belly is the way to go.  It holds it in and doesn’t creat muffin top spillage.  Gap and Loft also have some clothes that go up to XXL in maternity, but I haven’t purchased any from there yet.  Maternity clothes are so comfortable, once you buy a pair of maternity pants it’s all you’re going to want to wear!  Good luck!!

Check out eBay- I got three pairs of jeans for $25, and dress pants/capris for about $15, I think. I’ve never been much on consignment clothes, but when you’re only going to wear them a few months…

I’ve also found that there’s not much of a difference between maternity tanks at Target and tunic length ones, except that the maternity tanks don’t go on sale as often. 🙂

krstino1012:  hello. I am also pre-pregnancy size 18.  I have gotten all of my clothes from (XXL maternity), Old Navy (XXL Maternity), and (2X).

I prefer full panel. i carry weight in my belly anyway so I felt I need the support or my belly was jiggling around lol. I hate the half panel pants. eww…they make my tummy look weird.

Here is what I look like at 14 weeks in case you want to compare yourself to me for sizing

If you are ok with consignment you can try It’s like an online thrift store. I bought like 5 sweaters and a couple dresses. I don’t want to spend a ton of money on clothes I won’t wear very often.

krstino1012:  if your pants still fit other then the button you can buy a “belly band” at a lot of states like old navy…. It goes over your pants and up your belly (mine to my bra) and it basically holds your pant in place so you can still wear your normal pants without doing them up! I’m wearing one right now lol. I did but some mat work pants that I don’t need yet but they were on sale
