http://www.asos.com has really pretty dresses (formal included) for reasonable prices. I bought a dress to wear to a wedding when I was 24 weeks and I loved it. You should look there for sure!

ETA: Plus, you can almost always find a coupon if you google asos coupon codes. Happy shopping!

You could always go to A Pea in the Pod. Expensive yes, but I think you could justify the splurge. There’s also http://www.rosiepope.com I’ve never seen a retail store, but definitely check out their website! Good luck! Hope you find somthing.

I second A Pea in the Pod.  They are the same company that makes destination maternity (which is slighty cheaper).  The website has all their brands.

You may also want to check Gap Maternity.

As a side note, I’m 18w4d now and while I’ve been wearing maternity pants, I can still EASILY fit into my regular dresses.  I’ve gained 10 pounds and wearing my regular clothes as we speak.  You may not be that big at 18w.

@iRun2004:  Why can’t you wear black to a wedding?  I wear black for everything, lol.  I think it’s fine.

Black is okay to wear to weddings, especially evening weddings.

@iRun2004:  The dress I wore to the wedding I went to recently was black. I agree with PP, I wear black to almost anything.

@iRun2004:  I wear black to weddings all the time… the only colors I avoid at weddings are white and red… Red might even be okay in some cases…

I just ordered a bunch of dresses from Asos for a wedding I’ll be attending when I’m 32 weeks. I actually placed two orders… the first order came in and I really liked everything. I will probably keep 2 of the 3 dresses I ordered (one for my shower, one for the wedding)… Then I saw two other dresses on their site I wanted to try, so I ordered them too and should get them soon. I’m pretty sure one of them is going to work for the wedding though… phew!

You might also see if any of the bridal stores carry dresses in maternity.

Good luck!

If your mother always said not to wear black to a wedding it may be an idea your brother has in his head too so I’d check with him/his wife. I’m sure they’ll understand since you’re pregnant and all (at least I hope they would) but better to be safe than sorry.

@iRun2004:  Looks like your ordered your dress options already, but I just wanted to throw a vote in for “go ahead! wear black!”  I just went to a wedding and wore this dress from Gap Maternity (http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=6035&vid=1&pid=187366&scid=187366002) and I was comfy all night. I wore a thin belt with it, and went pretty heavy on the accessories. But it worked well! They have it in dark gray as well.
