I just ordered the Old Navy full "smooth panel" jeggings. Did the opposite of what you're supposed to do and didn't try them on first. Figured I would return if they seem uncomfortable. They were only $30 on sale.
I also ordered a pair of Citizens full panel maternity jeans. My sister recommended. Again, will return if they don't work.
I'm not expecting but whenever I'm on asos.com i'm always amazed with the cute maternity clothes they have, plus the price. And they have free shipping and returns, just a little FYI =)
I'm not really wearing maternity yet, at 13 weeks 2days I'm not really showing but none of my old pants fit me except one low rise pair of pants that used to be too big for me. I think I'll prefer the low rise just because I cant stand the feel of anything stretchy over my belly
I like full panel because the low rise jeans I found feel like they are slipping off.
oh wow thanks! They have super cute stuff and it's so cheap! Do they ship free int'l?
OT:
But I am keeping an eye on these two to see if they go on sale! I've been worrying about what I will wear to my office holiday party this year.

I had this same question looking at the Old Navy site, but I just decided to order the low-rise bootcut jeans (the ones with the elastic band, no panel). I LOVE them to death. Now that I'm getting bigger by the day, the full panels tend to feel like they're constricting me by mid-day (esp. after a meal). The low-rise aren't so low that they fall off, but they don't hit high enough to cause discomfort. I was super pleased.
and I will also add ... I ordered the low rise because I figured I could wear them postpartum as well. I think they'll work really well when I'm not able to fit into my old jeans yet, but I'm too small to deal with a full panel, either.

I found this blog post a couple of weeks ago that I found helpful.

I just ordered a demi panel pair from gap, a side elastic pair from Piperlime (J brand), and a strange adjustable band pair from Zappos (Paige). I'll let you know how it goes. There are very very few places that sell maternity items in my smaller town, so its easier to just order and try some on and send back the one's that don't work.
I like the low-rise jeans because I found the full panel jeans too big for most of my pregnancy, and I also couldn't stand anything covering my itchy belly after about 20-ish weeks. I also like the side adjusting pants since they didn't slip down much. Although some of my maternity pants did slip a bit, I found that maternity shirts are so long, they covered anything that might have shown before I got a chance to adjust.
I had to pull up my pants all the time regardless of if they were full panel or if they were an underbelly waist. (I swear someone needs to invent maternity suspenders that go under blouses but keep the pants up!) In the beginning I preferred the full panel and would pair that with the Bella Band but as I got bigger, the top elastic part of the full panel dug into my belly and became uncomfortable because the full panel didn't go over the whole belly. I preferred the underbelly waist later in my pregnancy because they didn't dig in and I had to pull up my pants either way.
I prefer full panel. I have a pair of low rise that are just a tiny bit too big and after trying to keep them up with binder clips I finally gave up on them. Full panels are just more comfy for me...even though I hate the contrasting colors on my jeans...lol
I got lucky and bought 3 pairs for $12 used. I have 2 full panel and 1 low rise. I actually prefer the full-panel. The low-rise ones have been falling down more. The full-panels are a bit too big, but I wear them with my belly band over the top and it holds them up.
@regberadaisy: that second dress is way cute! = ) I like the first one, too, but the length is scary. haha.
@Goldilocks1107: I like the full panel! I tried some low rise, and I felt like they were falling down, and that my butt didn't get a lot of coverage. The full panels have a lot of different materials, I prefer the ones that are more like spandex. = )
@bells: So apparently someone did make maternity suspenders but I never googled it when I was pregnant. I totally would have bought those and at least tried them. Here's some more.
@Pelikila - I am totally with you, I am HATING maternity jeans right now because they all fall down. All the time. I am still wearing my non-maternity leggings and skirts. I have one pair of jeans that doesn't have an elastic band at all, just a little stretch in the pants, they are slightly difficult to get over my hips but nothing unmanageable and once I get them on, they don't really fall down.
full panel jeans and pants were always super comfy for me, starting at about 16 weeks. it just felt good to have something snug around my tummy, otherwise i just felt jiggly and loose lol. never had issues with the falling down. sounds like a good idea to try both and see whats most comfortable for you though :)
Wow - great feedback ladies! I'm thinking I may have to try both and see. I'm due in mid/late May, so I hopefully won't have to worry about full panel being too hot. And plan on rocking dresses as much as possible.
@Goldilocks1107: I wore full panel all summer long in humidity. I just made sure I wore loose tope to accompany them...lol.

I just got these.. except I paid $19.99 on their columbus day sale!! I prob will wear them everyday in the winter with flat boots and a sweater... this way the fold at least covers my expanding ass :)
I'm a jeans snob and i loooooveed my old navy maternity jeans. I had a pair of low rise that I wore until about 7 months, and a pair of full panel trouser jeans that I wore (and shhhh.. may still wear one in a while). The low rise are good postpartum too, in that in between stage of when you don't want to wear full panel, but can't get into prepreganancy pants.
It honestly just depends on the store for me. From some I have preferred the full panel and some the low panel...all the pregnant bellies are different so just make sure to try them on (or if you are ordering online, make sure you can return what you don't like!)
Low rise for sure in the beginning, but towards the end, full panel is so nice! they give you so much more support since your belly gets heavy. I have been opting for leggings though!

I was on Old Navy today seeing what was out there for maternity pants and was confused by all the options.
So, for ladies that have maternity pants/jeans, what do you prefer - low rise or full-panel and why?
I've heard some pants fall down alot, and I'd like to avoid giving a show. I think the paneled pants might help with that, but didn't know if there was something else to factor in . . .
