I think now is a good time. I was about 30 weeks when I got my pictures done and I felt so big in them I wouldn't hae wanted to get them done when I was further along. Also, depending on what your SIL is like as a photographer, you might want to be more vocal when it comes to poses. My BIL's ex-wife did mine and I wasn't very vocal so I didn't get some pictures I wanted and I was in some positions that were a little uncomfortable at that stage in the pregnancy. I really wanted some pictures involving the ultrasound pics we had but I didn't say anything because I knew if she was going to incorporate them in the picture with photoshop or something that it would be more work so I didn't mention it at all. Make sure you speak up if you want something a certain way. They are your pictures.
I'm still not sure if we will be able to do this.
Money's pretty tight with the holidays and renovations at the new house. But if we do it will be around when I'm 30 weeks. I'm 21 now and still barely showing so I will presonally opt for a little later!
But I did hear from a photog I contacted that most do it around 7 months. :)
I did mine around week 34 - i think it is all up to you and how you feel.
I don't even remember when I had mine done. :/ I only had maternity pictures done for my first pregnancy, and that was 5 years ago. I know I had them done when I had a big belly, but it was before my belly button popped out! :) If I had to guess, I would say I was around 30-32 weeks along. If I had waited much longer, I probably would have been too uncomfortable to get into any of the cute poses!
@bride21: well I wouldn't worry about that at all, my SIL and I are like sisters, we're really close. She did my senior pictures in high school, my wedding pictures and now my maternity. She knows what I want/like and I'm not worried about anything in terms of actually getting them done.
@mashka_f1: Yeah, bummer I don't know how I'll feel at 35 weeks! I feel pretty good now for the most part, but if I don't get them done now I have to get them done at 35 weeks, so it's taking a chance if I don't. She lives 6 hours away.

Just wondering when everyone had their maternity pictures done?
My SIL is a photographer and I asked her to do my pictures. But I either have to get them done this next week (30 weeks) or not until I'm 35 weeks (when she's here for my baby shower). She is worred that if we wait until I'm 35 weeks I'll be too tired or feel too uncomfortable to do them, so she wants to do them while she's here for Christmas. I am pretty big, not overly big or whatever, but just not sure when most people do them??
Should I do them now, at 30 weeks, or should I wait til the end of January when I only have 1 month til my due date?
