@BeccaBee83:  My FSIL is 8 months and we just went to the pool last weekend. She wore a tankini and felt fine. It was a little short but then again it was from her prematernity days. Andonly  maybe by a half an inch.

If the tankini is maternity with side ruchinh it won’t ride up unless it’s the wrong size. Motherhood maternity bathinh are very reasonably priced & are all on sale now like 30% off. Pea in the pod bathing suits are beautiful & the fit is amazing. Great support better than any I’ve seen, but they significantly more expensive $80-$100. They do go on sale 25-30% off. Good luck I hate bathing suit shopping lol.

They had cute ones at Target but since I will be barely showing I bought a loose tankini from the regular section ($15) and a skirted bottom.  The maternity ones were really cute ($25 each piece) and you could totally get away w/ regular bottoms.  The maternity bottoms were almost the same, but lower cut in the front- which if you have a small/medium bump you could probably still wear.

@BeccaBee83:  I went with a one-piece from Thyme maternity because I wanted something that I’d be able to swim laps and do aquafit in without having to adjust it all the time. It’s worked out great! Their suits are expensive but they do go on sale. I think I got mine for about $40 on sale, which wasn’t bad at all considering how much I’ve worn it (at least twice a week since January). I’ve only just out-grown it (can’t pull it up over my belly anymore), and I’m 37 weeks today!

@BeccaBee83:  Love it! So cute. It looks like it comes in a tankini as well, but I like the 1 piece better TBH.

I’m due in September, so the biggest part of my pregnancy is in the summer. You shouldn’t be *too* huge in the summer (but getting there). I can still squeeze into my pre preggo bathing suit, but just got a new one. I got shorts from Motherhood (the reviews were great), and a top from Old Navy. Motherhood’s swimsuits are all 50% off right now…a great deal! Basically can get 2 pieces for $30!

I prefer 2 piece over 1 piece. In general I like 2 pieces, but I’d be nervous (for me, since I’ll be big) that it wouldn’t fit right when I got too big and would give me a wedgie, so I went with 2 piece.

@BeccaBee83:  I can tell you that I’m looking at it from the point of view of a Canadian, and I didn’t find it overbearing 😛 If you like it I say rock it!

If you have a Thyme near you, they often have bathing suits on the sales rack. I bought a tankini at 20 weeks, and it fits wonderfully. It covers my belly now at 30 weeks, and I figure that I’ve still got another few inches of room before it starts to show any of my belly at all. I think I paid about $45 for it (both pieces).

I’m planning a 2 piece so bathroom breaks are easier! I also second the motherhood maternity 50% swimwear sale right now. There’s some cute stuff in there.

I went to the motherhood website to show you the one I bought but it’s no longer available. I got a one piece from motherhood maternity that’s white with red cherries all over. It’s a halter and super cute. I don’t have good shoulders so I needed a halter and all the two pieces didn’t look right on me for some reason but this one fit me just right at 22weeks with quite a bit of room in the belly and boobs to grow so I’m exctied to wear it. Motherhood has tons of sales and give out coupons like crazy.
