So we put the mattress in the crib…and it is too small! We can easily fit two fingers between the mattress and the crib. I went online to check the measurments of other mattresses, and they are even smaller. Ours is listed as being 29.2 inches wide. Many others are listed as 27.5, which clearly won’t work.
Our crib has excellent ratings, and no one has written in a review that mattress size has been a problem.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Will BRU even allow us to return our mattress??? It is opened, but back in the plastic and taped up.

I don’t think BRU will have an issues with returning it, especially if you tell them it’s too small for your crib. Safety should be their #1 concern, and that’s clearly an issue. I’ve never heard of a mattress not fitting….is it a standarn crib? Sounds like it is. If all else fails, you could get foam and put around the matterss, but not sure if it would fit. GL!!

Did you buy the same brand mattress as your crib? I have read online that a couple of the brands run a little funny so you have to get the same crib and mattress brand. I would definitely keep searching/call the customer service line for the crib to see what they recommend. I wouldn’t use foam for the same reason they say not to use bumper pads anymore. Scary though! I kind of want to take our new crib out of the box right now and try it to be sure the mattress fits :/
