I like memory foam toppers personaly, but my sister likes featherbeds. I have a sleep number mattress and I just felt like the bed was too firm for me even on a lower number, so I got a 2inch thick topper from a local store for about $50. I’ve been sleeping wonderfully since I got it!

I have memory foam,  go for 2 inches thick or more to really feel a difference.  We had a feather bed years ago but during the night the feather bed continues to move and I would wake up fully settled in a big dent with all the fluffiness pushed up to my sides.  Memory foam doesn’t do that.

I’m a comfortable bed junkie. It is a priority for me. I have a 3″ memory foam topper with a padded cotton mattress protector over it, all on a stearns and foster mattress.

I  got my topper off of overstock for $100. or so. it can get hot, though, so you might want to top it with something cotton or a featherbed. I have found the deep pocket sheets can handle all of this bulk just fine.

it’s supportive and firm, topped off with the memory foam to alleviate pressure points and the cotton for breathability.

I believe they now make organic foam toppers, and I’d buy that now instead because the fumes for the first few weeks are a bit much with memory foam.

trueblue101:  Any sort of mattress topper, memory foam is what I have I think, but it makes my old bed feel like cloud 9.

I love our memory foam topper! Make sure you get at least 2″+ thickness though!

trueblue101:  We have a TempurPedic mattress topper and it is AMAZING. I feel like I’m sleeping in a hotel bed every night. I love, love, love it. Definitely the best purchase we’ve ever made.

I had a featherbed once and the feathers started coming out and poking me within a few months of use. Sucks, it wasn’t cheap but I couldn’t use it after getting poked/scratched

Agree with the feathers poking out problem.  I had feathers EVERYWHERE!  The memory foam topper is a million times better.
