We stayed at the Maui Coast when we vacationed there about 2 years ago. The hotel is nice, although if you get a room on the ground floor you may get some ants. But then I've heard the same thing about other Maui hotels. The hotel has a nice concierge desk that can book activities for you. There is a laundry room and they have bikes you can rent. But otherwise it just has your basic amenities.
The major downside is the location. Kihei is very quiet with mostly just condos in the area and is a good drive away from most attractions. I don't really recommend the beaches right around the hotel but Wailea is a 5-10 minute drive away and is stunning.
If I were to go again I would probably pick a more active area like Lahaina but prices will definitely be higher. But if you want something a little calmer or quieter and don't mind the drive (which can be beautiful), the Maui Coast is a good choice.
ive stayed in kaanapali at the westin

My husband and I are going to Maui for vacation in May. We are interested in staying at the Maui Coast Hotel in Kihei. Has anyone stayed here? Or can anyone recommend a hotel for about $150-200 a night? We are weary about staying in condo because there they vary so much from unit to unit. Thank you!!!!
