    Hi bees,

Any suggestions for what to do in Maui in September? Apart from a lot of lying by the pool and napping, I suppose we should see something...

    Thanks!

Go snorkeling, visit Haleakala (ride the bikes down if you can), go ziplining, take the Road to Hana and swim in the seven sacred pools and take in sights on the way there, check out the sugar plantation, go to a luau (recommend the Old Lahaina Luau), visit the Iao Needle in Wailuku (but don't forget bug spray). Go to front street in lahaina and visit the shops, eat at the awesome restaurants.

HTH. We are going to Maui for our honeymoon, too! Hope you have an amazing time! :)

We loved Feast at Lele's in Lahaina - the only luau I've been to with great food!!!  And open bar!  It's a plated meal with servers (almost 7 courses! Most are buffets) and a taste of all Polynesia.  It's nice b/c it's just the show, dinner, drinks, and dessert.  Doesn't have the rest of the luau stuff that drags on for me (crafts, games, etc) but some people enjoy that.

Thought the snorkeling at Molokini was overrated but the boat trip and BBQ lunch is nice and may be worth it alone.  We saw lots of turtles and fish just snorkeling off the beach at Black Rock (Kaanapali).  Agree with basically all the other activities of PP.

@hibiscusgirl: Seven Sacred Pools sounds great!

@maery1: Would love to see a turtle!!! We went snorkelling in Waikiki a few years ago and we saw a few fish, but no turtles!

@waffle: LOVING your recaps! I need to order that book from Amazon!!!!
