I got married at the Molokini Lookout at the Seawatch Restaurant in Wailea and used Deanne from Precious Maui Weddings.  I had the rehearsal dinner at Mulligan’s on the Blue.  I highly recommend all three.  I had an amazing and unbelievable time.  My family still talks about my wedding.  You can PM me if you have any other questions.

I am getting married by kapaula beach in west maui. I am using aloha maui weddings, which so far has been fantastic! My friends sister recommended them after using them, and I checked out the reviews and BBB, where there are only positive things.

out of curiousity, are you planning on visiting the venue before booking? I am leaning toward the idea of a maui wedding also, but on the fence about whether or not to visit before or just trust the reviews of others and picture/videos from the web. I also want a wedding under $15k with less than 50 attendees…but that  may not be possible! Cry

I’ve never stayed there but I know the property and it’s really beautiful with a great beach. It’s widely known to be a very good value and a good resort.  You aren’t really going to do any better with any other nearby properties.  The Royal Lahaina is the prettiest in that area.

The only other decent places to get married on Maui are Wailea and Kapalua, which are REALLY expensive.  Stay out of Kihei, do not go into Lahaina town. The other resorts in Kaanapali are okay but probably more expensive. Also more crowded and less charming. I think you should stick with the Royal Lahaina. Book with confidence and have a beautiful wedding:)

@MademoiselleL: You are welcome!  I’ve only been there a million times. lol  Seriously, you will love the Royal Lahaina for the price and for the location. It’s just so charming and pretty.

@MademoiselleL:oooo that sounds like a great package! I am hoping to be under 15k for everything and I’m guessing I’ll have less than 50 people. I already feel so overwhelmed with planning and I got engaged 2 weeks ago! There’s just too many options, but I’d love to hear what you find while we seem to be trudging along the same path!

@MademoiselleL: Thanks! PM me your email and I’ll fwd you the bad reviewer comments. I actually contacted her through yelp! and have more info on the place and where she had hers (Hyatt). I think my FI and I are going to attack this venue monster this way: find a package we like with all the services offered w/ a hotel package. Then contact a few highly rated wedding planning companies and have them quote us after sending them our hotel packages/prices and see if they can beat that with venues that are similar.  So far, that is our plan of action. and in the meantime, I’m just finding random people who have had Maui weddings and getting their feedback..everyone has been super nice and resourceful thus far!

Funny, I noticed @BOSOX11 bumping both of our posts too. I wish we could consolidate all of our questions and findings somewhere easier for all of us that are in the phase of planning a Maui DW…
