May 09 brides...do I have a month twin? Or even a date twin 5/30/09!??
Vic004 - We're date twins! How's the planning going? I was on a roll for awhile but have been on an extended "break" dealing with holiday happenings. Much to my delight, my custom designed bracelet (Dana Saylor on etsy is the best!) and earrings arrived today. Yay! When/where is your wedding?

Hey it turns out we are triplets! I'm also getting married on 5/30/09. I feel like I have all my vendors naied down now I just have to get going on the details. When are you guys sending out your invites? I'm getting married in Livermore, CA. I just added a countdown to my facebook (i know i'm a dork), ladies there are 159 days until our respective weddings. EEEEK!

Not a quad -- but May 16, 2009 here.
That means I only have about 144 days! Eek!
May 9, 09 here! It's quickly approaching!!! I need to make a list of all of the little details I still have to finish.
I'm a May 30th bride as well! Going slightly crazy because 13 months of planning is down to 5 months and I'm still no where near as prepared as I should be! We are getting married on Mackinac Island in Michigan.
I'm May 30th too! :) I'm keeping my fingers crossed for peonies. ;) I can't believe it is 5 months away!!!!

mine is on may 17th! i am so excited. im so glad to hear some of you are not where you should be with planning as well. makes me feel a little better. i dont think i am too behind. my wedding is going to be semi simple so i think im ok. i have most of the big things planned. but i am going to start really bookin down after the holidays! good luck to all you other may brides!
May 23, 2009 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL here! I don't have a dress yet.. pinning my hopes on a Filene's "Running of the Brides" in January!! But I have a veil, ceremony site, and reception site.
I'm a twin - I'm May 16th also in Florida! I've got all the big ticket items down and my invitations should come in today. Still having tiny dress doubts on the one I bought but my best friend says that is totally normal; it's because I haven't seen the dress in a while. Once I put it on again I will feel the butterflies. Anyone else think maybe they should have tried on a lot more dresses?
I'm a May 23 bride! (along with SO MANY others in my hometown--Knoxville--including Miss Cheese!) I haven't done ANYTHING wedding-related lately. My current paranoia is over finding hair and make-up for the day of...Dress, venue, photog, florist and caterer are all already booked. I'm working on designing my own invitations, and just waiting to hear from my printer what the best printing technique will be for my design.
I am a May 30th bride, too! I am getting married in Pittsburgh. My save-the-dates went out before Thanksgiving, and now I'm looking for invitations. Anyone else in the same boat, or have you girls found your invites already? It is a more complicated process than I thought!

Getting married 40 minutes outside pittsburgh, with a loose Kentucky Derby theme. (Same day, and my dad's a racehorse trainer at a local track. :) ) It'll be here before we know it!

I'm getting married May 23, 2009. I've only been engaged two months now but have already finalized the ceremony location, reception/caterer, photographer, DJ, bought my invitations, ordered my dress and (almost) all the bridesmaids have ordered their dresses. I've been thinking about hair and makeup lately as well as ceremony music. I'll be doing quite a bit of DIY things such as programs, place cards, bridesmaid bouquets and pomanders for the ceremony so I have plenty to keep myself busy!
like i said im on may 17! i designed my save the date but still havent found a good website to get them printed for cheap. is this too late to be sending them out?

andrea143, check out VistaPrint.com! They printed my STDs (mine are postcards) and I was really pleased with them. If you sign up for their emails, you'll get one about every day, but they include coupon and sale codes that are really valuable! I ended up getting mine printed (250 of them) for the cost of 100 cards, image upload ($5) and shipping. They also have great pre-designed options, including some where you can upload your own photos. They have cards and most come with free blank envelopes if want to go that route. I don't think it's too late for you to send them out, either, as the invites won't go out until early April. VistaPrint's super fast on shipping, as well!
yea i actually tried vistaprint. and for some reason there upload option wont let it upload. i am going to try to call them and see what they can do for me! will they send you a proof before you buy a lot?
andrea143 It may be a computer/internet setting that wouldn't let you upload. I didn't get an actual paper proof; you proof the digital version before you finalize your order. And take advice from one of the Bees if you're getting the post cards--the front side is the shiny side! Hopefully someone at VistaPrint will be able to help you with the upload issue.
As a side note, I also ordered invitations for a friend's bachelorette party and a return address stamp from there, and was pleased with those, also!

5/9/09 Bride here too - I think that makes me a twin, so far! I've still got a ton to do, but taking a hiatus till after Christmas (Or maybe New Year's...lol!) We're getting married on Boston's North Shore (Hamilton and Newburyport for those local) and I just can't wait! My fiance had to talk me into a big wedding (I was an elope to vegas girl), but I sure am glad he did! Now if I could just find a florist...a limo...tuxes...I hate details!

I'm another 09 May 09 bride-to-be, but in Columbus, Ohio. I'm glad I'm not the only one with a ton to do! I'm designing my invites right now, and working on booking the florist, dj, and perhaps videographer. Up next, planning the honeymoon!
FLBeachbride: I went with my MOH to order her dress and started feeling like maybe I should have tried on more dresses. But I know as soon as I put my dress on again it will be magic. From everything I've heard from my newly married friends, it's completely normal to worry! I'm sure you will feel at peace when you are in your dress again. :)

Very sad to say that I am sooo behind on my planning. It's going to be a fairly casual event, but still. I didn't do save the dates at all, but after the new year, I'm going to start thinking about DIY-ing the invites. I'll wait until the shopping rush is over, then head to the craft stores for supplies.
The worst part is though - I don't have a caterer booked yet!! I have the tent, the tables & chairs, the officiant, my dress, but no food. Not good. That will get done ASAP.

o i think you are fine saranightly! i think it is a tad bit over rated to be done with everything by the time 6 months rolls around! people plan weddings in 3 months all the time...not that you should wait that long. for your sake! but i think you should be fine with the time you have left. as long as you organize and pace yourself! good luck to ya! and to all of us!
Me too. Don't forget about me. I'm May 16,2009. I can't wait. we have been planing the wedding for 2 years now. And I can't believe that is finally here. My colors are Hot pink, choc. brown and lime green. Crazy huh. But they look really good together. If you can't tell I'm really a different kinda girl.
Wow so many twins! Cheers to the May 09 Brides! I'm gettin married in Sonoma, Ca, my bouquet is white peonies, and my colors are purple, chocolate, green and ivory. I'm currently trying to get our invitations designed with fiance's help. Lying low at the moment for the holidays but come January and I think planning is going to get serious! I know you all know what I am talking about!And I will probably take my diet a little more seriously too!

wow there are a lot of may 9 brides, however, i have not found a twin yet for me! mine is may 17th. its a sunday, a different day for a wedding. but i love it. the 17th has been an anniversary for my finace and i since high school. so it was very special to us to be able to get married on this day. very special. vic004 is there a specific somewhere where you are getting your peonies? i know they are very rare in early may. i want them here and there in my wedding too! i am close to sonoma, ca so im hoping i might be near some beautiful peonies!
Hey all you May brides! We are planning a Maine wedding for May 30th. We have been engaged since February and it has gone by sooo fast. I can't believe there are only 5 months until the big day! Our colors are black and white with accents of hot pink and Tiffany blue, we are going with the vintage Parisian feel, not over the top with the theme but there are accents of damask. My favorite part of the whole thing is my dress and my shoes. You see I am a shoe and purse fanatic, I pretty much need some sort of recovery program. I had my shoes and purse even before I had my dress, the shoes are hot pink strappy sandals (totally me) and my clutch is a damask print I got at Forever 21. Good Luck all, and happy planning!
I'm May 8th! The only one so far I think - it's a Friday. Since we are doing a destination wedding, we sent out the STDs last summer and I'm designing/DIYing the invites now. Venue, florist, cupcake maker are booked, we have friends/siblings doing photo and video. I need to book hair and makeup soon. I already have my dress, still need to get it altered and get accessories. Need to figure out the groom's and groomsmens' attire. The bridesmaids are picking out their own dresses, within certain parameters. Need to work on favors and gifts for families and wedding party.
Anyone else May 8? Anyone else doing a destination wedding?
Hey ladies! Mr. DE and I will be getting married over Memorial Day Weekend in 09! We still have a lot to do...DJ, Officiant, lots of DIY left. Happy Planning!
5.16.09 is our wedding date in south east Michigan! So close already...where did the 18 months go that I had to plan! We still have so much to do,we haven't booked groom or groomsmen attire, transportation, and I just began thinking about invites and we are DIY them. I've bought my dress, but still need accessories, haven't thought about hair, make up, shoes, and I still have 3 bridesmaids that haven't ordered their dress yet!! Ahh!Our colors are fushia, silver and black.
@Andrea143-I just sent my save the dates out this week for my wedding! No worries, I figure the people who really matter and want to be there already know when the wedding is!
Andrea143-my florist said that I wouldn't have a problem getting peonies because May - June is the time to get them. I don't know if that means late May since my date is May 30th. Late Spring early Summer is when a lot of flowers are available. I don't know where my florist is getting them but I can get you her info if you like. I hope you get them too, there is something about those peonies ya know!

@ Kristin25--We're date twins and I'm also in SE Michigan. Where's your wedding taking place? We're having both our ceremony and reception at the Michigan Union in Ann Arbor. Our colors are ivory, black and gold.
@ Andrea143-We are also DIYing our centerpieces. I think your idea with the tiny vases scattered around is a great one! We also have round tables, so that might be a good way to save some money, while still looking awesome. My favorite flower is tulips, so I had to make sure I was going to be able to easily get them!
