Hi! I’m a May 1st 2010 bride Smile

So far I’ve booked the venue (restaurant), the photographer, the florist, I booked the cake baker but still need to go over details, I got my dress and my wedding band. ooo and registered.  I gues I’ve done a lot. I’m trying to get as much done as possible so I don’t need to stress the entire engagement.

I think what stresses me out the most is all of the little details I want to incorporate but don’t know how.

I’m May 17th bride, but I figured I’d join in. Wink We have contracts with our venue and photographer, but we’ve decided on our caterer/rental supplier and florist too. And I have my dress and one of my bridesmaids is doing our stationery so that’s covered!

oooh oooh oooh. im may 1 too. i have:

venue and ceremony set/booked

dress (picked out but not ordering til sep 1)

in process on designing invitation/STDs (hee hee, that one always gets me)

cake baker booked

photogrpaher booked

interviewing caterers

im out of town from my location, so im setting up meetings with all my vendors in late october to make specific plans and meet them, so i want to have everyone chosen by that time.

***is anyone doing anything with a nod to the kentucky derby which will also be that day? we are not specifically since there are no TVs at our venue, but may do a mint julep just for fun. the wedding is in the south too, so this isn’t a tottal stretch…

Oh please someone use the song from “Il Triticho” the opera about wanting to be married on the 1st of May. I wish I could, but it’s not my day! Somebody please do and tell me about it!

Obviously I’m not a May 1st bride, but wanted to say that you couldn’t have picked a more perfect date….May 1st is my birthday. Laughing Congrats girls, I’ll be thinking of you on that day. hehe.

I’ve always staked weddingbee…. but when I saw this I had to post!! Im so happy to see other May 1st brides! So far I have reserved the ceremony and reception venue and I have started goccoing stds….after reading this… I feel like I am behind!!

I am a May 1st bride, too! So far I’ve: ordered my dress, reserved ceremony site, guestlist, chosen venue -haven’t put deposit down yet(!) she is supposed to call me later this week. cake deposit & design chosen, decided to diy flowers from fiftyflowers with help from DOC.

I am still searching for a DOC. I’ve only met with one. THe only thing I am stressing about right now is the costs for my venue. It is a private venue owned by the caterers & the prices for chair covers & special linens are very high. For $1400, she includes white or ivory linens, glassware, china, silverware, etc. but for chair covers its $7.95 a piece & other tablecloths are $30-$50! Highboys are $45. She doesn’t allow outside linens, either. We wanted to do a tapas style setup with dinner served on the terrace & then everyone come inside for drinks, cake & dancing (the town has a noise ordinance), but this set up will mean I need twice as many chairs – a chair for each person inside & another outside. Also the room setup is $200, dance floor $225, etc is adding up, but we LOVE this venue & it shares a parking lot with a reasonably priced hotel for our guests which means they would not have to drive – PRICELESS.

Here we go. I’m doing my wedding from out of town which is why I have to do things early

Our Save the dates should be coming this week…I’m so nervous about what they’ll look like since we’re taking a chance with the printer. Still looking for invitations. Still need a DJ, caterer, florist…and everything else!

I’m a May 1st 2010 bride too! Might sound crazy, but I’m in love with the date itself! The venue, photographer, DJ, florist are all booked. I have my dress, started gathering materials for favors and candy bar. I know which invitations I’m ordering (from etsy) and thats about it. Yay!

 

edit* oh yea and got the cake covered. I’ve pretty much decided on all the little details too.

Our date is May 1, 2010!
So far, we have the following complete:
Bridal Party
Color Scheme: Tiffany Blue, Ivory, Black
Ceremony site: Nay Aug Park, Scranton, PA
Reception venue: Genetti’s, Wilkes-Barre, PA
Cake: my cousin’s bakery, La Dolce Vita, NJ
Photographer: Carol McDonald

We’re planning this day from a distance and won’t be back in the area until late October. We have appointments set up with DJ and Videographer and plan on checking out limo services and florists the same weekend. Hopefully we’ll have all 4 complete by the end of the month.

I’ve gone dress shopping just once with my sister (MOH) and mother. I have it narrowed down to about 6 dresses, but need to return to make a final decision. Bridesmaid dresses – I know that I’m going with tea-length since it’s an outdoor ceremony, but they are still up in the air, too

Next on our to-do list is Save the Dates.

I am also May 1st bride! I have bought my dress, booked ceremony and reception site, bought favors, booked photographer and DJ, and bought my silk flowers. Still so much to do!!!!
