Looks like you’ve got things coming along!!  We pretty much have everything booked except a florist (still on the fence with DIYing the flowers) and hair/makeup person. I’m working on tackling a STD/invite suite now.

I thought I had a lot done, and then apparently kind of realized there’s so much more to go!

I have:

Dress

Venue (ceremony and reception, food, drinks, linens, centerpieces, cake)

Bridesmaids and Groomsmen have been asked

Bridesmaid dresses have been picked out but not ordered

All but necklaces for bridesmaid gifts have been purchased

Shuttle booked

Photographer booked and engagement session done

BFF’s DH is designing our STD’s with our engagement pictures and should have those back soon. He is also going to design programs and invites closer to.

Photobooth booked

DJ booked

Hair/makeup person booked, need 1 more hair person for bridesmaids/help

Accessories bought (shoes, earrings, etc, only waiting on undergarments and slight alterations)

Favors

My wedding band is picked out but not yet purchased. Pretty sure we know which one FI will go with but not 100% yet

So the groomsmen still need to figure out what they will wear, we don’t have gifts for them yet, no florist yet, no rooms blocked off, parking passes, parents gifts, and a few other things. It’s starting to freak me out because we got engaged in December and I remember thinking how far away the wedding date was and now we’re 9 months (for me) out!! Crazy to think the engagement is halfway over!

Yay for May!

I feel like I’m in the lull where we made a bunch of big upfront decisions and are now just kicking back and enjoying the summer

Set the date – check!  We’re getting married in B&B country, purposely set the date the weekend *after* Memorial Day so we don’t have to compete w.holiday tourists

Reception Venue – parents’ farmhouse “hi mom can we have the wedding at the farm?” “SQUEEEEE when we built the house we wired the deck for a band!” “cool!” haha

Church – check! Wish our wedding could be closer to sunset but they have a Saturday evening mass so we’re in the afternoon

Catering – family friends have an organic farm/catering business & agreed to cater. Yum!

Cake – family friend is a baker/will be doing the cake. Can’t wait to do a cake tasting!

Dress – purchased, should arrive around the holidays

Bridesmaids – asked & most even have their dresses. Von Vonni transformers, those things are constantly on sale so I just forward the emails/remind them of color when a big sale is happening

Groomsmen – FI’s slowly asking, I think he has one or two more to invite. He still has to decide what they’re wearing but that’s up to them

Engagement pix – we are lucky to have lots of photographer friends! One came out & took some really great photos at our engagement party, another who lives in TX took some great pix of us when we were visiting Austin earlier this summer. We have some really adorable ones from in front of Jo’s Coffee, I’ll prob turn some of those into Save The Dates

And my awesome MOH started making preliminary plans this week for a bachelorette party this winter. How cool?

We still need to think about tent/table/chair/linen rentals, music, photography (we want our awesome friends who took e.pix to be guests & not workers…possibly also a photo booth?), guest list (ugh huge family…), website, invites, blocking hotel rooms, etc.  I realize “etc” covers a million more things. I have lots of ideas kicking around my Pinterest board for some of the things

So exciting!!!

Venue, dress/accessories, shoes, officiant, horse and carriage, rooms blocked, dj/sax player, website done, registry complete, florist, up lighting, photography, videographer, caterer booked and tasting done, desserts, monogrammed napkins, linens/vases/table numbers/bar decos/mantle decos, bridesmaids gifts (monogrammed robes, day of jewelry and personalized gift), bridesmaids have their dresses, hair/makeup booked, calligrapher booked, save the dates out, shower/rehearsal dinner/second dresses ordered, ceremony is outlined, rehearsal dinner organized.

Still left: invitations and wedding bands are picked out but we have to order them, send invites, dress alterations, order grooms tux, reserve grooms men’s tuxes, hair/makeup trial, arrange guest transportation, book honeymoon, finish favors (we are hand painting everyone a wine glass so it’s going to take forever), finishing selecting wine for wine bar (we’re selecting wines from all our fav wineries- so far we have 6 cases), write vows, put together bathroom baskets, escort seating, make massive playlist for DJ, make guest book, make pennant banners for appropriate tables (dessert table, photo booth, etc), buy fun photo booth props…

Can you bees think of anything I may be missing?!?! I know I am a bit further along than most but I am in the middle of writing my Master’s thesis with the hope of finishing 6 months early so I wanted to get all planning out of the way! Good luck everyone!!!! 🙂

@ddattilio:  Don’t forget to check your registry in early spring…many items can be discontinued from season to season.  If you’re having flower girl/ring bearer you’ll have to get clothing/accessories.

I have selected a venue (B&B where the ceremony/reception will be), bakery and a photographer.  Everything else is in the air!

@orchidblooms: great call on the registry! We’re having 3 flower girls, but I still need to find their dresses! I got a bit discouraged initialy because I don’t really care for tulle, and it seems ALL flower girl dress are tutu replicas 🙁 has anyone had success with finiding lacey flower girl dresses?!
