We are 9 months away!! I am now well into the second half of our engagement (it will be 22 months in the end). Last night I decided to address all of our RSVP envelopes, and put the return address on all of our invitation envelopes. It felt good to get something out of the way so early :)

    How's everyone doing?

Wowza! I havn't even picked my invites yet. Your beyond ahead of me... I better light my fire.... lol I'm getting soo excited though. I've mocked up our programs for the ceremony. I think I want to do them myself. Maybe just have a printer print them and I will cut & assemble them! As I was reading my mock up @ my desk @ work; I started getting butterflies in my stomach....!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

    Woot, 9 months out!

In the last month, we've made ALL of our big decisions. What a load of stress off.

Though now I think I might change my mind about my wedding dress... LOL

Hi everyone! OMG is it only 9 months away? I can't believe it. We've picked most of our vendors but only signed contracts with a few of them. I'm getting nervous since our first venue cancelled and we had to find another. Hopefully we won't run into any other big obstacles.

Our STD's are hopefully going out this week! Then it's official! Yikes!

Hi Ladies! Glad to have some Date Twins! We have most the main stuff done.
    -Church
    -Venue
    -Dress
    -Photographer
    -Caterer
    -Cake
    -Flowers

I have bridesmaid dresses picked out but they are not ordered yet. Just waiting on DJ papers in the mail to send deposit & thinking of ideas for decor at reception. We are having all the flowers done by the florist so we mainly just have to get ideas for ceilings; arches & other stuff for the tables. We are not allowed to have candles so that is making it a little difficult.

I have mock up of the program for ceremony that I want and a picture of simple invites I want to make & punch corners myself.

It's starting to come together!!! I'm getting excited.

Yay! It's going by so fast!! I still have to choose dj, officiant, and flowers. Only thing holding me back is lack of extra money for my deposits :S But my fiance just started a new job so things will be turning around for us financially very soon :) I'm excited about that! I just bought a new dress, we had our e photos done yesterday, and I've started some of my DIY projects.

Hi Twins! I'm SO excited because I am addressing out save the dates right now! Are you all/have you already done save the dates?

@bblove04: I should totally do that. It would be hilarious! But I also don't want all my Facebook friends be sad if we aren't able to invite them :(

@Miss Sequoia: I sent STDs and now I wish I hadn't... lol. I should have second guessed it. A bunch of my relatives have told my mom that they won't be coming, so we booked a smaller room, but now I HAVE to send invites to them, and risk that they might up and decide to come... ACK. Sorry to vent haha.

I love having date twins. When I got engaged last July, I didn't really have any lol :)

    Carpie    May 28, 2011

Do all of you May brides have a dress picked out? I'm planning to wait a few months, I heard that even though shops say to do it so far in advance, 4 months is usually enough so I plan on going on my winter break from school since my goal for the next few months is to lose weight.

We have our location booked (ceremony, reception/caterer), invitations picked out and are almost finalized with our DJ and photographer selection. Our venue includes in the room rental an event cordinator that keeps everything the day of in order, so kind of a built in planner is what they called it.

@OttawaBride2011: We will be engaged for 22 months when we get married too!

We are trying to change our ceremony venue right now because I am in love with one but we decided not to book it at the time due to costs.  Right now we look like we're under budget for many things and would like to splurge, but still waiting for an OK from the venue.  Fingers crossed!

No invites yet and no BM dresses yet (will wait until all BMs are in town in Oct before we shop, but I've told them to start looking online).

@OttawaBride: Oh dear. I hope they will not decide that they are coming after all! I think if fewer of our guests come than expected, we will probably just only use part of our venue. A bunch of families are only sending one person, so that's a very real possibility.

Our STDs are out! And next up are emailing my relatives in India to see who can make it. Now we are beginning to think about rentals, decor, linens, etc.

@ritsi_bitsi: Good luck with the venue. You're lucky, I'm not even sure if we're having BMs! I want them, but he doesn't want attendants, so we'll have to see.

@Carpie: I have my civil ceremony white dress, which I love so far, and two saris. I haven't gotten them made yet so I don't know which one to wear for the actual wedding. I have a little bit of sari regret but I'm hoping it will pass.

@Miss Sequoia: I know, it's such a huge stress to me right now, and we're still so far away. Eek.

Speaking of which, does anyone else feel like May is just never going to get here??

Wow - I can't believe all you girls have done so far. I need to kick it into high gear. I keep thinking I have a ton of time, but since I want to do a lot of things myself, I probably should NOT be saving everything til the end.

Anyone make (or plan to make) their own invitations? That's my money-saving strategy... just hoping I'm not getting in over my head!!

My favorite part so far has been the dress shopping! So fun! However, its the shoe shopping that now has me stressed... eek!!

@kdkadinger: We aren't making our own, but we bought the DIY kit from Michaels. I tested one out the other night and they look really nice, the paper quality is excellent and our printer had no problem. We bought 60 invitations, and using the coupons we paid about 55 bucks :)

    @kdkadinger: No problem!!

I just finished stamping our candy buffet bags. I bought small brown paper bags and a cute heart shaped rubber stamp. I stamped them orange and am planning to use purple ribbon to tie the bags closed :)

Anyone else finish a DIY project?
