My wedding May 2nd, and we JUST changed reception and ceremony venues, like two weeks ago. We still have to make programs (me), choose the cake flavors (me and FI), we mailed invites yesterday, and we need to get our ceremony music picked. I'm not to worried. Whatever happens, happens!
I'm feeling super overwhelmed right now. Mine is May 15, and I'm still working on the invitations. Hopefully, they'll go out this week at some point. I also need to do the programs and menu cards, finalize the centerpieces, pick ceremony music, and tie up all the other millions of loose ends. Oh, and I'm in law school, so I have papers and exams coming up too! :(
Oy! I don't even want to think about how much is left to do! 5/9/09 - all the "big" stuff (ie. vendors, honeymoon, etc.) is done, now on to the escort cards/favors, seating chart, programs, and my first dress fitting is tonight!
I still have tons to do...
I still have to pick out the ceremony music, along with all of our intro, first dances and cake cutting songs, My invitations are about to come in & they are going straight to the calligrapher, so I hope to get them out by next Tuesday. I still have all of the "little" things left to do- like out of town bags, welcome letter to our guests, programs, table numbers, guest table cards, favors, gifts, hair/makeup...
The list goes on and on... I think I'm giving myself a panic attack right now!
Mine is the 30th and I feel like I have nothing done. It's funny cause I started planning last May and figured I'd have it all completed within a couple months. Now I am ready to flip out. I mean I do have and had all the important thing done, vendors and such, but believe it or not we are still have not meet with our officiant. Oh boy! Oh well I suppose everything will turn out just fine no matter what!
Don't worry it will all come together in the end. My date is May 30th and we are printing the invitations this week so they will go out next week. I still need to do alot of the little things like the aisle runner, and programs, and put together favors. Most of the DIY stuff still needs to be done. @ Lnickle i feel your pain with being overwhelmed I am working two jobs and trying to plan this wedding. Keep your head up, and just remember that in the end as long as you get married thats all that matters.
I'm a May bride! Like all of you, we have all the big things planned and are now concentrating on the details: programs, ceremony music, reception music, day of itnineraries, escort cards, etc... We sent out our invites this weekend, and now we're just waiting for the RSVP's to come roliing in!
@chickasjf - You're so right. I think that's good advice on how to keep my head above water!
yay for May bride updates!! 1st is invitations out at the end of the month, tuxes, rings, music lists, videographer-we still can't decide if we want to get one. Ceremony programs and choosing what we want to say to each other, table numbers, escort cards. Dress alterations need to start and favors, bm gifts eek. There is a lot, it is kind of stressful but it is under control if we don't get derailed!!
Yikes, I feel really behind! I still have:
Invitiations, hair/makeup (my hairdresser canceled on me), florist (*cringe* I know, I should have this already), programs, place cards, favors, rings, other misc. DIY stuff, create menu with the caterer/final tasting, pick all music, final meetings with DJ/photographer/caterer/priest, limos (if we're having one... still haven't decided), book rehearsal dinner venue
Is anyone else making tissue paper pomanders (a la Vintage Glam)? I feel like I live and breathe tissue paper!
How overwhelmed we all seem to be! I know I have a ton to do... am just starting to think about hair/makeup/shoes and what DF will wear. Not to mention decorations, you know, the stuff that was fun to dream about at first!
There is still plenty of time. And I'm as much excited that it's getting closer as anything. I had another big "it's real" step when the invitations went out this weekend, and I can't wait to get my first reply back!
I have the big stuff out of the way, but there are alot of "little" things left:
invitations (going in mail tomorrow); song selections; programs; menu cards; favors; rings; out of town bags; attendant gifts; groomsmen tuxes; guest book; escort cards; seating chart; table numbers.
Ironmaiden: my first dress fitting is tonight also!
The RSVP cards started trickling in today. It's exciting!!
Anyone wanna make my pomanders for me??
Right now it feels like I have EVERYTHING left to do! I have a 2-page-long list that I've barely started to tackle. Ack. Invites are almost done tho, they should be in the mail by next week. That's a huge relief, since it's the thing that HAS to be done the soonest. But seriously. I have to get on some of this stuff! Glad to know I'm not the only one!
I'm making tissue pomanders too! But I'm also having a semi-destination wedding (wine country, ca -- fiance's family is from there) so I'm going to have to cram a lot of the DIY stuff once we're there the week before. Pretty scary stuff.
Wedding is May 31st and still have to do the following (mostly details):
transportation, rehearsal food stuff (doing it at a park but need to figure out where to get food), all the music stuff (got a dj but no idea what songs will be playing except for 1st dance song), diy-ing flowers - so coming up with some kind of plan and finding online wholesalers/flower mart, finalizing menu and rental details, figuring out ceremony details, place cards, programs, table numbers, hair/make-up, etc etc.
So lots more to do.. sigh. I hate it but I love it too.
Another May 2 bride!
Our RSVPs are coming in, and we even had our first registry buy this afternoon! (apron and rolling pin!) My shower is this weekend!
We still have to sit down with our photographer next week to sort out pictures & meet with our pastor to discuss the ceremony. The rest of it will be week-of stuff: making bouquets, etc.
It's coming so fast!!
Oh my goodness...it is SOOO nice to know I am not the only one feeling overwhelmed!!
I still have so much to do...hair/makeup, mail invitations, programs, table numbers, finalize songs with the DJ, favor labels, bridesmaids gifts, dress fittings, out of town bags.....the list goes on and on!!
Hopefully I can crack down and get it all finished!!! YAY for May brides!! :)
Programs, pick the layer cakes, final dress fitting (next week!), ceremony details, ceremony music, iPod playlist for reception, ties for groomsmen, DIY bouquets, BM gifts, BM jewelry, rehearsal dinner details.............
Less than two months! We CAN do it!
Invites went out 2 weeks ago, except for a few I can't find addresses for! The next project is to pick out ceremony music, so I can finally start on programs. However, I'm just not good with music and really don't care that much about the preludes and stuff. I have several friends who are excellent singers, but I don't feel that I can ask them until I have a song for them to sing!
I just want to get married already!
Six weeks away and the list keeps growing each day, hour, minute!
Finalize menus for four days!!! (Destination wedding); Order veil from Etsy; Order Welcome bags; Order paper lanters; Finish up invites this week and MAIL!!!; make map for invitations NOW!!!; finalize hair and nails; order Thank You cards; come up with the best wedding present ever for my fiance; start acquiring some new clothes for the wedding week; and so many more things I cannot even think of right now! Argh! I am just so ready for the wedding to be here!
I third the wanting to be done part! I'm excited for everything to come together, but I'm tired of agonizing over which ribbon looks best and all the other dumb details and projects still on my to do list! :)
For those that have sent out invites, have you received back many RSVPs yet? I'm starting to get a little nervous that no one is going to send them back and then every single person we invited will show up!
Ugh, we have about 2 weeks left till our RSVP deadline, and we have heard back from maybe a quarter of the people. I am just keeping close tabs on who has responded, and my mom will call everyone who hasn't RSVP'ed the day after our deadline. On the bright side, I only have 33 days left, and my to-do list is getting shorter and shorter!
argghhh it's overwhelming! i have to finish ceremony programs, table numbers, our guestbook, boutonnières, favors that need to be wrapped up... and we're only 26 days left!
It is getting crazy! Invites are hopefully going out tomorrow, then I need to jump on escort cards, programs, signage in general, final florist proposal, guestbook, table numbers, favors, wedding bands, Mr. Taffy needs to do the ceremony music, reception music, make a cake stand...
Still don't have a quote from the linen rental place...eep.
Boudoir shots are this weekend, and I'm almost done with my veil! Fitting is tomorrow...whoo!
May 23! A lot to do!
Having the invites done and mailed out is big. I did that two weekends ago. Big stress reliever.
What's left: programs, favors, seating, music for ceremony and when band is not playing. Groom and groomsmen clothes and gifts, oot bags, advance cooking and freezing for the wedding weekend, hair trial, shoes and jewelry, photo list, menu
mostly done: ceremony, band first dance, wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, rings, flowers (ordered at least) DIY makeup lesson (now practicing)
and whatever I've forgotten!
An update, our invites went out last week and the RSVP's have started coming in. I forgot how much fun it was to get something in the mail that isnt a bill! The FMIL has not been very active in finding a rehersal dinner location so I have been searching options for her (check one thing off the list and add another right) Well i finally found a place that will take all of us on a Friday night. There are still quite a few things to do though!
our wedding is may 8th and i feel like we have tons to do =/
we still have to plan the ceremony with our officiant, make the photography schedule/itinerary for the 3 days we'll be in my home town for the wedding, plan music with the DJ.
i still havent found shoes or accessories. we also still need to finalize programs, name cards, and some other decorative details for the cocktail hour/reception.
just "finalized" flowers last night. phew!
Every Saturday I minus another week closer... 7 weeks left, but who's counting!! We sent the invites 2 weeks ago and I have gotten a few back - all yes' so far...
3rd dress fitting = dress is finally all set but the dress maker has NOT started my jacket yet (I am a little freaked out about that)... BM / flower girls dresses all set but NONE are in yet.
OHH.. I did a little DYI project yesterday - our flower letters for the chapel doors.. how easy and a cute addition to the ceremony and reception. And I almost completed the 2 flower kissing balls for the girls... I did say ALMOST.
TO DO - started ribbons and bows - UGH favors!! Need to do programs, affix petals to my 75ft runner, meeting with the DJ and photographer this week..
I feel like nothing is READY yet but I'm comfortable with the timelines, so far.
This post makes me feel a little better - it is good to know that many of us are on the same page!
My wedding is May 30 and my invites went out last week. Things left to do: dress fitting, print programs and other paper products for reception, meet with officiant one last time, dance lessons, buy wedding-day makeup! If I have time, I'm sure there will be lots of little extras to take care of that I'll be thinking of up until the big day (thanks to incessantly reading creative ideas on Weddingbee!).
Mine is May 30, and all I have left to do is make the menues, find a tiara and make the favors!

I'm a little surprised at how many things I'm working on now, and it feels like the last minute. My wedding is May 24... and I am still finalizing so many things!
What are the rest of you doing with two months (or less!) to go?
