Tomorrow is both the 5 month mark and the 1 yr anniversary of our engagement. I did panic a little this morning, I have no idea where the time has gone. I dragged my Fiance around this weekend to find ribbons for our invitations, he was totally fascinated by the martha stewart hole punches at Michaels.

Kate I’m envious of your free time, I’m 151 days away from my wedding and am in panic mode, I have no free time due to my job and am so behind in getting everything done, I can’t even remember all of the little things I need to do….I purchased my wedding dress (yesterday), booked my cake two days ago, ordered my shoes online (they are in transit) and am going to pick out invitations and bridesmaid dresses today. I’m looking forward to marking those items off my list. Ohhh and I purchased some of the wedding favors (bubbles, favor bags, cameras for each table, place card holders, picture frames).

What I haven’t done that’s really freaking me out is decided on linens, centerpieces (ohh I need help with centerpieces, I want so much and am torn on what to actually do, my theme is elegant bling (if that even makes sense) my colors are ivory and silver with crystals, ostrich feathers,  and  jeweled décor.  It’s extremely hard to get my dream wedding when my budget is $17K but I’ve been slowly going over my budget, not a good feeling L

The other things I haven’t done is selected the the music for the reception or ceremony (my fiancé’ is taking care of that piece, or so he says, I’m getting worried), ceremony isle decor, veil, jewelry…oh and the list goes on and on…5 months will be here before we know it.

Oh and we have our engagement portraits tomorrow….I hope they go well (my fiancé’ is so precious and just as handsome as he can be but he is def camera shy)….wish us luck!!

I hope you fabulous ladies are ahead of me!! Happy Holidays and Happy Planning!!

Yay! Almost 5 months for me too!

We are getting married in New Orleans (we live in the midwest) and just came back from a successful week of planning.

We met the officiant, took engagment pics, had my bridal shower, found bridesmaids dresses, hair and make-up trial, did a walk through of the venue and checked out the hotels where we have hotel blocks.

I’m on school break for the holidays (my last one ever!) and am hoping to get a ton done before school starts. Hoping to get the boys’ suits, my shoes and accessories, invitations, baker and florist booked.

@jelew01-you’re theme sounds awesome! We had our engagement pictures done last week and I was nervous for my Fiance too. But in the end, he seemed more comfortable with the camera than I did. I totally didn’t expect that to happen.

I am literally almost done planing.  I just have to start doing my brooch bouquet and tissue balls for the aisle. Dress is in and paid off, shoes ordered, planner booked. cake booked, DJ booked, catering booked, venue booked and paid off, Honeymoon booked and paid off, rentals booked, limo booked, doing my own make up and hair, centerpieces 80% done, linens ordered, bridemaids dresses slected, venue decor ready to go, shoes ordered. That was the easy part for me I love planning but the  worse part is the DIY…tissue balls make me cringe I did one and was so over it LOL just 4 more to make, making my veil this weekand  folding napkins this week too. I decided to give the bank account a rest lol before I go over budget. So now I’m in DIY mode… I wish it was next month so I can just be done and move on with other chapters of my life it’s exciting but it consumes my every thought so I just keep thinking of other kool things we can use and my Fiance is smart he put all the money in the wedding account and told me this is what you said you needed if you spend it the rest is on you LOL cause he knew I’d keep adding things on. I’m so screwed now no sneaking anything else in…LOL

OMG just over 5 months for me!!  We just went to Men’s Wearhouse yesterday and picket out tuxes – I recommend everyone go soon because our weddings are during prom season, so you want to make sure you reserve your matching tuxes/vests before all the high school kiddies take ’em!  Also, They have a pretty sweet deal right now where you also get $400 towards a new suit with 5 rentals.  Sweet!!  Too bad you can’t use it until 2 weeks before the wedding – as if we won’t have enough stuff to do 2 weeks before the wedding!

I’m freaking out myself…This is what I have done so far, venue booked, caterer booked, pianist and violinist for ceremony booked, DJ booked for reception, photographer booked, cake booked, Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses found just waiting on them to buy them…so far thats all I can think of right now…I really need to book the florist…am I really behind on that?? I’m not sure when the huge deadline is for that and for some reason it’s freaking me out more than anything! I’ve gotten pretty slack the past couple months and need to get back on the ball asap!

HI Ladies!!

We are now down to 4 months!!! It sounds like you ladies have it all on track!! I”m making progress but am still way behind.

We had our cake tasting yesterday, we are having strawberry cake with strawberry cream filling and buttercream icing on 2 layers and the anniversary layer and yellow cake with buttercream icing on 1 layer. We were so lucky because the lady we found to make our cake is very reasonably priced and knows what she’s doing, that was hands down the best strawberry cake i’ve ever had!! I included a picture of what the cake is going to look like, except it’s going to be a cream color with cream peonies that have silver brushed on the very tip tip.

I still haven’t figured out what wedding favors to have, what are you ladies doing? I am thinking about having pens that have our name and wedding date. I’m also going to have personalized Hershey Kisses in a small silver organza bag. I dont have alot of money to spend on favors but i thought the pen idea was neat and I didn’t think they were to expensive. Any ideas?
