May I have some help on identifying a Tiffany ring?

Looking at the photos it doesn’t look authentic to me. Unless they changed the Tiffany setting a lot over the past few years (I see this was appraised in 1996), it doesn’t look anything like it. The prongs are different, the basket is different… etc.

To me, that’s too much to spend on something that may be fake. I could be wrong, but I really wouldn’t want any doubt in my mind, you know?

You could spend a bit more and get a really nice half carat diamond ring from Blue Nile that you know the exact specs of etc. If you really want a Tiffany ring, I would just save for longer.

I am definitely no expert, but I find it odd that they didn’t post a picture of the actual Tiffany & Co marking on the ring.  My guess would be that it is fake.

@MrsLuca:  NOT a Tiffany & co definitely. Much different claws/prongs holding the stone. I don’t think Tiffany sells SI diamonds either. Tiffany diamonds also have a serial number inscribed on their crown. Their settings also have a unique serial number & the carat weight of the diamond engraved along w/ Tiffany name. I have seen what I believe are probably authentic Tiffany&Co rings on ebay. They include the Tiffany paper work, cert, etc. Tiffany doesn’t sell their settings separately from the diamond and the craftmanship of their rings is impeccable.

That ring is bogus!

@gemgirl6:  I can confirm that I know Tiffany sells SI1 rings (not sure about SI2). I was corresponding with them recently when I was asking about ring pricing, and one of the options they gave me was an SI1.

@MrsLuca:  yes, just looked at mine, says: Tiffany & Co”.

Ha ha, I report people on ebay sometimes too. I dislike fakes myself. I always feel sorry for someone who may get taken by one of the charletons!
