Maybe I'm crazy, but did the price of my Macy's registry items just increase?

Our wedding is next week. I went to our Macy's registry today just to check on it and was horrified to find that very few items were on sale anymore. Everything on our registry was on sale for the entire time we've been engaged? I'm kind of embarassed at the prices on what's left. What to do?

Yep, they go up and down -- sales start and end. I heard there is a sale next week that's pretty big. But legally, a store can't have items on sale at all times. The item has to be offered at full price at some point during the year (Otherwise they are lying about the "sale" price)

    Hope that's not too confusing!

Sigh. The secret to life is timing and I suck at that!

Same with our Macy's registry. When our china isn't on sale it is $215. When it is on sale it is $139 (which is the same price it ALWAYS is at BB&B). I'm trying to get people to spread the word not to buy anything from Macy's unless it is on sale.

You could always add more stuff that is more reasonably priced... but I'm sure the prices will go back down soon. Also, I think a lot of people know anyway that Macy's artificially inflates their prices, and won't buy unless there's a sale.

PS, wanted to add, I totally know how you feel. I mentioned it to my MOH and will also be mentioning it to my mother, so they can maybe spread the word. My toaster is double the price it was when I put it on there!

@blu77: Thanks. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I feel like "No! I don't need a $300 coffee maker, but it was really sweet at $150!"

    Oh Macy's...

If it makes you feel any better---I think the Friends and Family Sale (sale + extra 25% off everything) starts next week.

One of the guys at Macy's told me that their housewares stuff is on sale 300/365 days of the year.

I wouldn't sweat it - it may pop back on sale again shortly... some may give a gift card or something or may not notice/care what the prices are.

    Good luck!
